Did you hear about the possibility of Dollar Tree raising prices yet again?! I really hope this doesn’t end up affecting how much I love Dollar Tree!!
{Be sure to check out my lists of 25 Things to Buy at Dollar Tree and 5 Things You Should NOT Buy at Dollar Tree!}

It looks like Dollar Tree is once again raising base prices on their merchandise. We saw the jump from $1 to $1.25 back in 2019, and now it looks like they’re planning to go up from $1.25 to $1.50.
The price increase in 2019 was a test to see how consumers responded to it, and I was really hopeful they would go back to their $1 base price model…but it looks like that won’t be happening. What a bummer!
Have you noticed this latest price increase at your local store yet?

Another change we saw in 2019 was the “multi-price” model. Rather than everything in-stores being $1, they changed it to have a variety of items at multiple price levels up to $5. And during 2024, we’ll see the max price go up, as well — from $5 to $7.
During 2024, over 3,000 Dollar Tree stores will roll out the new multi-price assortment model of everything in stores being priced between $1.50 to $7.
This move is being made in order to add new products to their shelves. Expect to see a variety of new products in stores like food, snacks, pet care, frozen and refrigerated items, plus more.
Are you seeing any $7 items at your stores yet? I’d be curious to know.

The good news is that, according to Dollar Tree’s CEO, the vast majority of the items sold in Dollar Tree stores will remain at the entry-level $1.50 fixed price point.
As you all know, I have long loved Dollar Tree and I’m sad to see they keep raising prices. But hopefully we can still enjoy a lot of their lower-priced $1.50 items for years to come!
I do wonder if I’ll eventually have to update my list of what NOT to buy at Dollar Tree, but we’ll see!
Dollar stores buy a lot of inventory at one time so they discounts and can then pass them along to customers. They will also sometimes purchase damaged items that other stores can’t sell. However, buyer beware — many items are so cheap because they aren’t high quality and will break easily.
Due to the rising costs of everything, it’s expected that Dollar Tree will stick with $1.50 for their lowest prices. We likely won’t see $1 prices any time soon (if ever).
Do a little research and Dollar Tree does accept most manufacturer coupons, so keep that in mind when you shop — it could be a great way to get an even deeper discount.

There were tears and there was laughter on this episode of the podcast, because we talked about the vulnerable (and sometimes difficult!) topic of belonging. And my guests were Chris and Julie Bennett, the authors of Fighting for Family: The Relentless Pursuit of Building Belonging.
As the title of their book would suggest, Chris and Julie are passionate about relationships and community. In the conversation, they share about how family isn’t just the people who you are related to, it can also be people who become like family because of your deep friendship.
The Bennetts share their story of a very crazy and chaotic season in their lives — uprooting their lives to move to Los Angeles without a clear plan, not being able to find housing, moving again and again, while facing the completely unexpected diagnosis of stage three breast cancer for Julie.
They share how hard it was, but also how good it was. How God used this space where they felt like they had nothing to offer and were so needy to teach them powerful lessons about belonging.
In this episode, they share some of what they have learned and provide encouragement for anyone who is feeling lonely or like they are an outsider.
If you are craving deeper connections, longing for a sense of belonging, or simply seeking inspiration to navigate life’s challenges with grace and resilience, this episode is for you. I think you will be so blessed by this heartfelt conversation!

We’re excited to roll out a brand new feature called What I Got Wednesday — where we share some of the best savings submitted to us by readers!
Check out the deal Aimee scored on Under Armour shoes! Wow!
My 11 year old son has been needing a new pair of tennis shoes and I’ve been waiting on a good deal. This week Under Armour had a deal so I jumped online, after Money Saving Mom posted there was a sale, to check to see if they had the size we needed. We were in luck! I also grabbed a new pair for our 6 year old whose shoes are wearing down also. I was able to get free shipping and both pairs for a little over $61 after tax!
Psst! This Under Armour shoe deal is still available!
We had several other great submissions from readers who scored great deals on meat, linens, and fruit snacks. Check them out below!

Jessica got a great deal on ground beef:
Recently my local Acme was having a sale on ground beef $3.50 a pound. I went in to get some and most had a a sell by date for the next day, and an additional 50% off. I grabbed what I could and went back a few days later and they were doing the same thing. We are well stocked on ground beef for a while, but for $1.75 a pound I had to stock up.

Rachel found an amazing mark down on linens:
I happened upon a large selection of high end linens at our local Thrift Store this week: organic cotton sheets, curtains and linen bed covers. It was half price day as well, so according to my Google research I saved more than 90% off retail and they are all brand new.

Morgan scored a deal on Annie’s fruit snacks:
I recently got two 42-packs of Annie’s organic fruit snacks for just $4.38 each on Amazon!

Charlotte has taken advantage of meat markdowns to save a lot:
Thought I would shoot a deal I’ve been doing on a consistent basis. Lately, I’ve been combining turkey meat with hamburger. I only buy ground turkey meat on sale now. I bought two packs of ground turkey meat Buy One, Get One Free today at Ingles. So I paid about $2.50 each pack. Then I placed the combined meat in freezer bags according to how much I would put in one dish. I got three freezer bags of combined meat (from 1lb. of turkey meat combined with about 3/4ths a pound of hamburger meat.) I’ll do the same thing with the other turkey pack.
Thank you so much to these readers for sharing your savings with our community! How inspiring!!

Want to submit your savings for a chance to be featured? Simply go HERE and fill out the form! Each week, we’ll pick a few of the best submissions to be featured.
(And we might even throw in a fun little surprise for you if you’re picked! Free coffee, anyone?!)

Welcome to my weekly recap post where I share a little peek into our week, share some links to things I don’t want you to miss, and highlight some things you may not have seen on the blog this week.

Silas makes his formal debut on the podcast this week by joining Jesse and me to share about their trip to DC. He’s joined in on a few podcasts in the past when he was much younger and didn’t say much, so I’m excited for you to get to hear more from him now that he’s older and less scared of the microphone. 🙂
Jesse and Silas recount the adventures they had on their trip, including flying Southwest (and winning some vouchers!), Arlington, the Holocaust Museum, the 9/11 Memorial at the Pentagon, Museum of the Bible, the Capitol, Mount Vernon, Gettysburg, the White House Visitor’s Center, and more!
You’ll enjoy hearing both of their perspectives on it, what they learned, what was disappointing and surprising, and places they want to return to. They shared some stories and insights I hadn’t yet heard from their trip, so it was really fun for me to sit back and listen — I hope you enjoy it as much we did recording it!

Guess what?! I’m giving away these checklists to you for FREE!
When you download the FREE Simplified Home Checklists, you’ll get:
