Since we were staying in cabins equipped with kitchens on our vacation this past week, we all pitched in and brought food for the trip and then cooked mostly all of our own meals, instead of going out to eat. I brought extra food from our grocery stockpile so I didn't spend any extra on groceries for this week.
We did end up eating out three times this week–which is two times more than we normally do–but we used our vacation cash envelope to pay for it, so this also didn't cut into our grocery budget at all.
As soon as we got home from our vacation, we found we were completely out of baby wipes and laundry detergent so my husband made a quick run to Walgreens to do the Huggies wipe deal and pick up the cheapest laundry detergent they sold.
I didn't get a picture, but he got:
3 64-count tubs of Huggies wipes–$2.79 each, used $2/1 Walgreens coupons, used 1 $0.50/1 manu. coupon–$0.29 for one and $0.79 each for the other two
Altogether, he paid $5.04 for all of that.
I usually try to stock up ahead of time on laundry detergent but I've apparently missed all the recent deals on it so we ended up paying $2.99 for a bottle of it–not too bad, but definitely about $1-$1.50 more than I usually pay per bottle. Oh well!
I'm excited about all of the upcoming deals available next week at our local stores and am hoping to have some great shopping trips. Stay tuned for details on those!
