If you’re a mom on the go who wants deeper insight into your sleep, stress, and overall wellness without adding more to your plate, these smart rings for women might be your new favorite tool. This guide breaks down our personal experiences with the Oura Ring 4 vs. RingConn Gen 2 Air so you can choose the best smart ring for simplified, everyday health tracking.

For a few years, I had a Fitbit. And it was okay, but I didn’t feel like the tracking on it was super accurate — especially when it came to sleep. After hearing rave reviews from others about the Oura Ring, I decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did! I’ve always been a fan of simple, low-maintenance tools that help me stay on top of my health, and smart rings have quickly become one of my favorite finds.
As a busy mom, I don’t always want to wear a smartwatch, especially one that feels clunky or needs constant charging. That’s why I was intrigued by the idea of a sleek little ring that could track things like my sleep, recovery, heart rate, and more without getting in the way.
Right now, the two most talked-about smart rings are the Oura Ring 4 (which I personally use) and the RingConn Gen 2 Air (which my sister Gretchen has). But if you’re trying to decide which one is actually worth your money, or which one has the features you’ll really use, it’s not always an easy choice.
In this post, I’ll break down both options — comparing the features, the prices, and the benefits of each ring –and then Gretchen and I will each share what we love about our own smart ring choice, so you can figure out which one best fits your lifestyle and your budget.
Let’s start with an overview of what you actually get with each one.
Oura Ring 4: I have the Oura Ring 3, but would definitely get the Oura Ring 4 if I were going to purchase one now. The Oura Ring is built from titanium, comes in a nice range of finishes and sizes, and tracks a large number of biometrics including heart rate, HRV (Heart Rate Variability), temperature trends, sleep staging, readiness and activity. It’s a full‑on wellness device.
Because it offers so much, it does come at a premium: the upfront cost is higher and there’s a subscription fee if you want full access to all the data.
RingConn Gen 2 Air: This one is positioned as a more budget‑friendly smart ring alternative. It still tracks a lot of the key metrics like sleep, heart rate, HRV, and temperature. Additional features include a thinner/slimmer ring design and stronger battery life claims (10‑12 days, depending on size/model), compared to Oura. The biggest perk? Lower upfront cost and, in many cases, no monthly subscription needed.
Let’s start with the Oura Ring, since it’s the one I’m familiar with. The Oura Ring is beautifully designed. It’s made with titanium, comes in a few different finishes, and fits comfortably on your finger. It tracks a wide range of wellness data, including sleep stages, heart rate, HRV (which stands for Heart Rate Variability and represents how well your body is adapting to stress and recovering), body temperature trends, and a “readiness” score that tells you how well your body is recovering.
What I love is that it doesn’t just give you numbers; it actually gives you real-time insights you can implement. For example, it can encourage you to take a rest day, to try to get to bed earlier or wind down earlier, or to get in more steps or movement. It will also alert you if it appears your body is worn down and likely getting sick.
The app is really clean and easy to use, and it makes me feel like I’m getting a personalized wellness check-in every day. I find that it motivates me to take better care of myself, to prioritize more sleep, to move throughout the day, and to slow down instead of just push through when I’m worn down.
RingConn’s Gen 2 Air smart ring is another solid option and costs less upfront. It tracks similar data like sleep, heart rate, and activity, and is known for being lightweight and slim. It’s ideal if you want to keep tabs on your wellness without going all-in on analytics. And a big plus? It doesn’t require a monthly subscription in most cases, which makes it a more budget-friendly option over the long run.
This might sound small, but how the ring feels on your hand really matters, especially if you’re wearing it 24/7. I’ve worn my Oura Ring during errands, workouts, bedtime routines, and everything in between. It’s slightly thicker than a regular ring but not heavy or annoying. I honestly forget I’m even wearing it most of the time.
RingConn’s ring is a little slimmer and more lightweight, which might be more comfortable if you’re sensitive to how jewelry feels on your hands.
Both smart rings are waterproof and built to withstand everyday life, which is great for anyone who’s constantly working with their hands, cooking daily, or doing household tasks. Just be sure to order the sizing kit before you buy since getting the right fit makes all the difference.

Sleep is one of the main reasons I started wearing a smart ring in the first place. Between parenting, work, and life in general, getting enough quality sleep has always been a challenge for me. The Oura Ring has been great for tracking my sleep patterns and helping me understand how well I’m recovering. I check my readiness score most mornings and I find it helps me decide how hard to push myself, or when to give myself some grace and a little extra rest in my day. I appreciate that the Oura goes beyond just the raw data and gives me these insights I can act on to feel better each day!
I’ve learned a lot of different things from the tracking — such as, when I go to bed by 11 p.m. (or earlier!), I get much deeper sleep. This has really motivated me to make earlier bedtimes a priority. If you want to hear more of what I’ve learned and how much my Oura ring has impacted me, listen to My Honest Experience With Wearing an Oura Ring.
From what I’ve read and watched, the RingConn performs well in this area, too. It doesn’t have the same detailed breakdowns or “coaching” insights, but it still gives you helpful information about how long you slept and how restful your sleep was. It’s a good fit for someone who just wants to stay aware of their sleep habits without needing as in-depth metrics.
Gretchen here! I’ve been faithfully wearing my RingConn Gen 2 for several months now and have been so impressed. I love that it tracks SO many aspects about my sleep (sleep stages, heart rate, skin temperature, HRV, and more) and I can easily see it all every morning. It also takes all the things it tracks into consideration and lets me know my overall sleep efficiency. This has been super eye opening to see how the things I do and eat, the stress in my life, as well as how I spend the last hour before I go to sleep ALL affect how well I’m sleeping.
When it comes to activity, the Oura Ring does a nice job tracking steps, calories burned, and workouts like walking or running. It’s not as detailed as a fitness tracker or smartwatch, but it gives me a clear picture of how active I’ve been each day.
The Oura Ring also provide insight and feedback on other data like, if you enable inactivity alerts, it will prompt you to stand if you’ve been sitting too long. There’s even a feature that tracks your cycle based off biometric data, like temperature, which you can use to predict your period or track your fertility.
I think if you’re someone who exercises regularly and wants lots of fitness-specific data, you might find the Oura more satisfying. But if you just want a general sense of your daily movement, RingConn is perfectly fine.
The RingConn also tracks activity, though some reviews say it’s a little more basic than the Oura’s tracking. Gretchen here! My RingConn seems to track my steps and fitness extremely well. I used to use a Fitbit and it was frustrating because it was not accurate at all. I love trying to “close all my rings” and it gives me motivation. It also alerts me if I’ve been sitting too long and need to get up and move around. I’m a runner and weightlifter and my RingConn has kept track of when I work out and usually has a pretty accurate idea of what kind of work out I did (my app will ask me if it’s not sure).
One of my favorite aspects of the RingConn is the way it keeps track of my cycles and fertility. It gives me information each day on what is happening and what foods to eat/avoid, what kind of mood I should expect, and more. So far, it has been spot on and the longer I wear it, the more accurate it should be as it gets to know my body. This would be an amazing feature to have for someone who is trying to get pregnant or avoid getting pregnant naturally.
Lastly, I find it fun and interesting to watch it track my stress levels. RingConn gives a ton of information regarding your stress levels throughout the day and this is kind of fascinating to me.
The cost difference between the two rings is something to consider. The Oura Ring typically starts at around $349 and, depending on the finish you choose, it can go up to around $500. On top of that, you can choose to pay a monthly subscription fee (currently $5.99/month or about $70/year) if you want access to all the features and data. I use the subscription and find it helpful, but you definitely have to ask yourself if you’ll use it enough to justify the cost.
The RingConn Gen 2 Air, on the other hand, usually sells for around $199 and doesn’t come with any ongoing fees. That’s a huge selling point if you’re looking to make a one-time investment without committing to a subscription. When you add up what you’d spend on the Oura Ring over a few years — especially if you’re not regularly digging into the app or using all the features — it’s easy to see how RingConn might make more sense for someone who wants to save money while still tracking basic health data.
If you’ve ever forgotten to charge your phone, you’ll be happy to know both rings hold a charge for several days. I usually charge my Oura Ring once a week while I’m showering or doing laundry. The battery typically lasts five to eight days. It takes about an hour or so to fully charge, and I don’t feel like it’s a hassle to charge it this regularly.
RingConn actually boasts a slightly longer battery life — somewhere around seven to ten days, depending on how you use it. This is a great perk if you want to worry even less about keeping it powered up. Some versions even come with a charging case that’s easy to bring along when you’re traveling.

That really depends on what you’re looking for and how much you’re willing to spend. If you want something affordable, simple, and effective and don’t want to deal with monthly fees, RingConn is a great option. You’ll still get the core features that matter most, like sleep and heart rate tracking, without the premium price tag.
But, if you’re ready to invest in a wellness tool that offers more detailed insights, a beautifully designed app, and a little extra polish, the Oura Ring could be worth it. Just make sure that, if you want the premium features, you’re ready to pay that monthly subscription fee.
I’ve been really happy with my Oura Ring, but I also know it’s not the perfect fit for everyone. If I were starting from scratch today, I’d definitely take some time to weigh what I really wanted to track, and what I’d actually use consistently before making a decision.
Gretchen here! I feel like I need to give a bigger shout out to RingConn. I know Crystal loves her Oura Ring, but I think the RingConn is amazing. I’ve talked to quite a few friends who have one (including Crystal!) and it seems to me like my RingConn is every bit as good. I only charge it for about an hour once every 12-15 days – which is amazing. The cost is so much lower than an Oura AND I don’t have to pay a monthly subscription fee.
Smart rings are such a fantastic and low-maintenance way to stay more in tune with your health and wellness. Whether you’re aiming to get better sleep, manage stress, or simply move more each day, both the Oura Ring and RingConn can help. I hope this breakdown gave you a better sense of which one might be right for you and your budget.
If you’ve tried either of these rings, I’d love to hear what you think. And if you’re just getting started on your wellness journey, remember: the best tool is the one you’ll actually use. Keep it simple, listen to your body, and give yourself grace.

Wow! If you are looking for a kid-safe phone, this is a super HOT offer from Gabb!
Through December 7th, Gabb is having a Black Friday Sale and offering 50% off a Gabb Phone OR Watch! Just use the promo code CACTUSFREE at checkout to score this deal.
Here’s how to get this deal:
This is a GREAT deal on these highly rated kid-safe smart devices especially since we haven’t seen a deal on them since last Black Friday!
The Gabb Phone is kid-safe and kid-friendly. These phones are perfect for kids who need to be able to stay in touch with parents, but not quite ready for Internet access, social media, etc. They are built to keep your kids connected, not addicted.
Gretchen here! We got my son a Gabb phone several years ago and it has been such a great phone for him. We first started with a simple phone but upgraded after a year to their latest model. I cannot recommend these phones enough and tell all of my friends about them.
The Gabb service utilizes its own network, which connects to the Verizon network. The first year we had the phone, we had a lot of connectivity issues. However, since upgrading his phone 3 years ago, everything has been great and often his phone still has service even when my husband and I don’t (on our iPhones)!
This phone has been such a great introduction into the world of technology. I LOVE that he doesn’t have access to the Internet or social media, but can stay in touch with everyone through texting and phone calls.
Gabb now offers safe app add-ons like Gapp Music, Gabb Move, Gabb Messenger, and so much more. We’ve added a few of these to my son’s phone and have had a great experience with them. I especially recommend paying the extra for the Gabb Music as basically every teen loves to listen to music. This music app is much safer than Spotify in that it provides safe music and does not have video content.
I love that you can set it up so parents receive text notifications regarding any texts that are deemed “inappropriate” or questionable. This is reassuring to have when your child is first given a phone and texting capabilities or is on the younger side.
While we haven’t tried the other options out there (Bark, Pinwheel, etc), we have been SO pleased with our Gabb phone and I have recommended it to so many parents over the years. We are already planning to use it again when our second child is ready for a phone.
Please note that there is a $30 activation fee once you receive the phone.
Valid for a limited time only.
