New Pet Care Perk: Free 24/7 Vet Access with Pawp
If you’re a pet parent, here’s another awesome reason to consider a Walmart+ membership. Walmart just added a free pet telehealth benefit powered by Pawp!
With this perk, Walmart+ members get unlimited access to licensed veterinary professionals anytime, day or night through their phone or device. And it’s all included in your membership! That means you can ask a vet about your dog’s itchy paws at 10 p.m., get help deciding if that cough is serious, or just get peace of mind when your cat is acting “off,” all without paying for a separate virtual visit.
Here’s a summary of everything you have access to:
- 24/7 Vet Support: Text or video chat with vets and vet techs any time, not just during office hours.
- Unlimited Visits: There’s no limit to how many times you and your pet can check in so it’s perfect for questions big and small.
- Expert Guidance & Care Plans: After your virtual visit, you’ll get a personalized care plan including product recommendations so you’re not just guessing what to do next.
- Savings Built In: Pawp telehealth typically costs around $99/year on its own, but it’s included with no extra fee for Walmart+ members.
- Optional, Additional $3,000 Emergency Coverage: After enrolling in the free Pawp tele-vet benefit through Walmart+, you’ll see details about Pawp’s Emergency Fund and can choose whether to add it. The fund provides up to $3,000 per year to help cover eligible emergency veterinary expenses for your pet.
This new benefit rolls Walmart+ beyond groceries, fuel savings, and shipping perks and into real, everyday help for families who have pets. It’s especially handy if you want quick answers between regular vet visits or on nights and weekends when clinics are closed.
Is a Walmart Plus Membership worth it?
If you are a frequent Walmart shopper, you will likely recoup your membership cost within the first few weeks… so yes, it’s probably worth it for you.
There are many ways to save with a Walmart Plus membership (as you can see listed above!), so if you feel like you’ll save at least $98 per year, then you’ll come out ahead with this membership!
One thing to note is that you do have to tip on grocery deliveries, so that’s something to keep in mind when considering if it’s worth it for you.
Our team’s experience with a Walmart Membership
Gretchen here! I’ve had Walmart Plus for over a year now and love it almost more than Amazon Prime (which is saying a lot)! There are so many perks to having a Plus membership, including FREE 2-day shipping on any order and a FREE subscription to Paramount+. But, getting groceries and household items delivered free to my doorstep within the day is one of my favorite perks. I’ve found that it’s easiest to place an order and schedule it to be delivered between 8am-9am the next morning. Not only does it save me tons of time on weeks I can’t get to the grocery store to do a big shopping haul, it also saves me money because I don’t do any impulse buys while in-store and I can easily stay within my grocery budget since I see the total at checkout before paying.
Honestly, the Paramount+ subscription is an amazing deal in and of itself! It’s normally $6/month so you’re essential saving $72/year by having Walmart+. We have found SO many great shows on Paramount+ and it’s become out go-to when watching shows and sports. (As a side note, my husband is a huge soccer fan and LOVES having access to many soccer games on Paramount+.!)
Last December, I was able to utilize my Walmart+ membership to ship all my Christmas gifts completely free in just 2 days time. The part that was amazing to me was that the Walmart+ shipping time was much faster than Amazon Prime in those busy holiday season weeks. I’ve still found that on average, Walmart+ ships items to my house faster than Amazon.
Sarah here! I’ve had the Walmart+ membership for almost a year now and LOVE it! During the holiday season, I scored so many fantastic deals before they sold out because I didn’t have to wait to reach a minimum shipping threshold. Some deals were even delivered from my local store the same or next day. In the last couple of months, I’ve been using the grocery delivery more and more and it’s been such a time and sanity saver for me. For both of our recent camping trips, I could get all of our groceries and other camping essentials delivered to my door the same day, simplifying our prep during really busy work weeks.
I also love saving 10 cents on each gallon of gas. We have four drivers in our household so that savings adds up. It’s so easy to pull up the app at a participating gas station and save.
Our followers also LOVE Walmart+!
Check out some of these reviews and comments from our followers on Instagram:
“It’s the best thing EVER! Got it for half off last July and I don’t think I can live without it now. 😂😂😂 I haven’t been grocery shopping since I subscribed. HUGE time saver! –Joelle
“I have Walmart+ and love it. I usually do my grocery shopping at night and choose hours between 8-9 am the next day. They deliver on time always, no fee added. We can tip and they give the tip to the delivery person.” –Ida
“Paramount+ is included in the membership. That made it worth it for us. It’s also nice if we need just a few things or groceries to have them delivered instead of me stopping by the store after work when I’m tired. We do the bulk of our grocery shopping at an actual grocery store. But when we’re busy and going 5 million different directions, it’s nice to have our groceries delivered.” –Theresa
“I love Walmart+. Free delivery of anything in the store and free shipping anywhere you want things shipped. It’s perfect for holiday gifting, shipping treats to college kids or elderly parents, in addition to getting anything from hardware to ham!” –Becky
“We used the free trial and decided we are never going grocery shopping again! 😆 Worth every penny!”
“Free Paramount+ comes with it, which we didn’t realize for a few months!”
“I have Walmart+ and use it allllll the time.”

No, you can’t watch the Olympics. You have to upgrade and pay for it.
We’ve had multiple people do it successfully. What kind of error did you get when you tried to sign up?
Can this be used to extend a current Walmart + membership?
I was going to cancel mine to see if it would offer it to me at the $49 rate. It didn’t but did give me $50 Walmart cash which is basically the same thing.
OH! Thank you for mentioning that!
Thank you for posting this! Mine renews this week. I clicked to cancel and it offered me the $50 Walmart cash. Perfect! Thanks!!
Woohoo!!
How much does everyone tip on grocery delivery? A full 15 to 20% on the entire order? That is so much money and has been the dealbreaker for me. I am disabled and honestly really need the delivery, so it’s a tough one.
Can people who already have Walmart plus membership take advantage of this deal so it’s cheaper next year?
the 50% won’t activate, ….
Did you try acting like you are going to cancel your membership? -Jordan, MSM Team
I went all the way through cancelling my membership but was never offered a discount. I would keep it for the $49 but I don’t think it’s worth $98 for me.
Same here and I’ve had neighbors who had the $49 membership and were offered that same price when it expired, I got nothing except a notice that my subscription was expired and to renew it would cost $98
I have a current membership and I also was curious if I could get it to apply to my next renewal. I didn’t see the offer in my account so I hit cancel membership and then it asked me if I was sure I wanted to cancel or if I’d like a chance to renew for 49.99. I hit the claim offer and “canceled” my “cancellation”! Super happy about this!!!
Oh! This is super helpful info to know! Thank you for sharing!
Mine didn’t give the offer when I clicked cancel.
I am a single working mother and this membership allows me to get my groceries to my doorstep and almost anything else I need at a competitive price. Time is money for me, paying the $49 and a tip for delivery is nothing in comparison to the time I have saved. When I have gotten produce that wasn’t good, I have called and they credited my account right away. I have had this service for three years and have only called maybe three times.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! Knowing what our time is worth is such a valuable lesson. -Jordan, MSM Team
We have used it to deliver groceries to friends and family who are sick/ hospita/ etc – just had to be $35 which is reasonable
We plan grocery delivery while on trips too which totally saves money.
I missed this deal when it was last offered and was SUPER BUMMED! So you can imagine the excitement I felt when I saw it was being offered again. I have already put it to use and have ordered a ton of things with great prices and FREE SHIPPING!! Whoot! Whoot! Thank you MSM
I’m excited to try this! Have you seen opportunities for more than 50% off the annual membership fee? I’m just curious, especially with the holidays coming up! Thank you!
This is the best deal we have ever seen! -Jordan, MSM Team
It worked!! Thank you. I was dreading paying full price for next year.
Yay! You are so welcome!! -Jordan, MSM Team
Awesome! It worked for me! I so appreciate the work you do to help the rest of us save money.
The deal was active for me even though I just renewed in August. This is awesome and worth keeping for that price!
Thank you, IT WORKED!! I love your tips. Keep them coming
Thank you! This is a blessing and it worked just fine! It’s set to renew at the discounted price when our current year expires.
Thank you for this Walmart+ offer. It was available to me. Yay !!!!
By the way, with Walmart+, it’s not free unlimited grocery deliveries – deliveries are only free if you order a minimum of $35.
I’m on the fence about renewing another year – while it has been helpful quite a few times, Walmart fresh produce is pretty bad when ordering for delivery – their reviews are all bad too! I’ve appreciated non-produce deliveries, but they sometimes make mistakes and deliver to the wrong place, especially with the shipped items. I’m usually able to get a refund, but this last time they wouldn’t give me one! I had to contest the charge on my credit card.
While occasionally there are cheaper items than Amazon Prime, the selection is not as good as Prime, and less reliable as well – I’ve had a few items that just got lost during shipping, or things were delivered to the wrong place, and it takes time to contact customer service to get it a refund. Not as easy as Amazon. Walmart’s delivery drivers are definitely hit or miss.
Thank you so much! With so many “memberships”, every savings is a blessing. We appreciate you!
Mine just renewed in September 🙁 BUT this did work for me and says it will renew at $49 in September 2025! This will be a nice surprise next year!:)
Woohoo!!!
Thank you! This worked for me. 🙂
Got it! THANK YOU!!!
YAY!
Worked for me. Thank you!!!
Woohoo! You are very welcome! -Jordan, MSM Team
It worked-I was set to renew in November at $98 and now it’s $49. Thank you!
Yay!! You are so welcome! -Jordan, MSM Team
Thank you. My renewal was half price, which will pay for itself with gas savings and cash back offers.
Yay! You are very welcome! – Jordan, MSM Team
This totally worked for me. My plan was due to renew the beginning of Nov. I am now paying half price for the next year’s membership. NICE FIND!
Woot woot! -Jordan, MSM Team
Thanks! I was able to extend my membership for the $49!
You are so welcome! -Jordan, MSM Team
I took advantage of the $49 deal simply because my husband likes some shows that can only be found on Paramount+, and it is included in Walmart+. We currently pay $5.99 for our Paramount Plus membership, and at half off, Walmart+ works out to $4.08 a month, so I am already saving close to $2 a month even if I don’t use another perk of the program. I figure it is like getting a free trial of Walmart+ for a year if you are already a Paramount+ member. If I don’t use the other perks, we will cancel it at the end of the year and subscribe to Paramount+ directly through their site once again. To do it, you must first cancel your Paramount+ account and then sign up through the link Walmart+ gives you.
That’s a great way to look at it! -Jordan, MSM Team
Can I use this to renew my current membership which ends soon?
What I read was if you have a current membership, you have to cancel it and then resubscribe through the link Walmart gives you. What I did was cancel my husband’s, and then I opened a new account using my email instead of his. We were, for some reason, on a month-to-month plan which is odd as I usually always pick a yearly plan for subscriptions since it is generally cheaper.
I have been using Walmart+ since July when they had it on sale again for half off. I mainly got it for the grocery delivery, but that has been a disappointment. Unless you pay extra for Walmart+In Home, Walmart outsources the delivery of your groceries to a random delivery company, so these are not Walmart employees delivering your groceries. I have had so many mistakes in my orders with the deliveries (including one time when the delivery driver left 2/3 of my order at someone else’s house!) that I have switched back to doing pickup instead of delivery, which I was doing anyway for free before I joined Walmart+! I don’t know if it works this way in every locality, but it does in Richmond, Virginia where I live. I plan to give the delivery another chance or two before I completely swear off of it because I really wanted it to work, but I’m not hopeful based on my experience with it so far. One thing that I have used is the free shipping on orders less than $35, but I can usually get better selection and service through my Prime account. So disappointing, because grocery delivery was really going to be a game changer for me.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We always appreciate getting honest feedback from our readers. I am so sorry that you have had issues! I hope they get corrected. -Jordan, MSM Team
I agree the delivery is haphazard. I have only used it a few times and although it’s free you still have account for tipping. The best perks for me were the $0.10 on gas and Paramount+. If not for the sale it would be worth it to keep at the regular price. They are constantly adding new perks which seem to be nice if you use them.
We don’t live in a major metropolitan area, so Amazon does not give us same-day delivery. I love ordering (groceries and general items) from WalMart+ because our local store will bring out anything they have in stock same-day. Amazon has been, for me, extremely haphazard in their delivery- like liquid detergents leaking, smaller items crushed by being packed with heavy items in the same box, etc. My WalMart items arrive in good condition, I receive real-time tracking, and a photo of the item in its delivery spot at our home. While I have never been a WalMart fan, I am impressed with the delivery service. As for the Scan and Go, I agree with Deb – it’s not the time-saver it is at Sam’s Club.
so if you have a sam’s credit card and a walmart plus can you save twice?
This works for renewing your membership too! I just talked with customer service and they processed it!
Thanks for sharing!
That’s great! Thanks for the info.
I tried it, the .05 off gas was nice, especially since Murphy is the cheapest gas by us. The scan and go is NOT like Sam’s, you still have to wait in line for the self checkout, then scan your phone, then bag your groceries. I did not use the delivery as I am always buying little unusual things that my parents need and make a lot of small trips, rather than one large trip. It was nice for free, I got 30 days free, but I would not pay for it.
Thanks for this review. Very helpful.
Thank you for sharing your experience! We love getting feedback from our readers about how these services worked for them. -Jordan, MSM Team
