2. Sign Up for Swagbucks
This is one of my favorite ways to earn free gift cards! You’ll earn points for searching the web, taking surveys, shopping online, taking polls, watching videos, and much more. These points can be redeemed towards prizes or gift cards. For suggestions on how to earn the most with Swagbucks, read my Complete Guide to Swagbucks.
3. Take Surveys
You won’t get rich taking surveys, but they are a fun way to bring in a little extra cash each month. Plus, you can often do them while you’re relaxing or watching a show at night. Here are my best tips for making money by taking surveys + my favorite companies to sign up with.
4. Scan Your Receipts
You can earn a few dollars (or points toward a gift card!) every week — just by taking a few minutes to scan your receipts. You don’t have to buy anything differently than you usually would buy, and you can even scan online receipts!
Some of my favorite apps to use are: Fetch Rewards, iBotta, Coin Out, Swagbucks, and Checkout 51.
5. Use Up What You Have
Now is a great time to go through your pantry, fridge, and freezer and deep clean. Pull out anything that needs to be used up or that you forgot about and challenge yourself to find a creative way to use it. You can check out this list of pantry recipes for some ideas.

I’ve never hear of CoinOut, the rest I already use. Also Kellogg’s website offers
a points system for receipts and tons of other things similar to these other places. I also use ReceiptPal, Flipp, RetailMeNot, and NCP. Since December between all of these things we’ve received over $100 for the things we buy already.

Thanks Crystal! When you said, “Scan your receipt” I at first thought you meant “scan it with your eyes”. I scan my receipts (with my eyes) before I leave the store, and last week I realized I was charged $9 too much because the bananas were rung up as grapes. It’s surprising to me how often there are errors on my grocery receipts! Thanks for the ideas!

Oh! That’s such a good reminder, too!
