Welcome to my weekly Slow Day post, inspired by Monica from The Homespun Heart. My Word for 2018 is Slow and, in the spirit of that word, I’m taking one day each week (Wednesday) off — I’ll be unplugged and offline and plan to move at a slower pace, take time to do things that refresh me, and just really focus on being present and savoring the moment.
Each Saturday, I’ll be sharing a photographic peek into my Slow Day — and I’ll let the pictures almost 100% speak for themselves, instead of giving many explanations. Enjoy a little peek into our lives!
Shown in the pictures:
- She Reads Truth Bible (download the free Bible in a Year program that I’m doing here or sign up to get it via email)
- Mom Set Free (this book is SO good!)
- The Valley of Vision
- My Favorite Things to Buy at Dollar Tree
- Tiesta Tea: Cocoa Mint Chill (one of my faves!)
- Springs in the Valley
- The Lucky Few
- My Favorite Bread Machine
- The Instant Pot I Have
- Honey Buttermilk Bread Recipe

Thanks Crystal, I love the idea of the slow day and focusing on what is important 🙂

I have so many questions! I’ll keep it simple. What’s on top of the smoothies?
Crystal Paine says
It’s shredded coconut!

Hah, I recognize that thank you card. I sent it to someone as thanks for a job interview late last fall. Did you receive it or send it? It’s really beautiful. I’m thinking of going back to get one just to keep on my desk. The colors are great!
Crystal Paine says
I was writing a handwritten card to someone. 🙂

You all look so happy! Love this post. Thanks for sharing.
Crystal Paine says
Thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed the post!
Ann says
What is it that you sprinkle in your smoothies. Is that coconut
Crystal Paine says
Yes!

I was wondering the same thing. I looked back at the pictures to see if I could figure it out, but nope. <3 coconut.

Thanks for the links; I’m looking for a reliable bread machine. Homemade is so much healthier, tastier, and cheaper than store bought! I couldn’t believe it last week when my nieces said they had never tasted homemade bread. Now that I’ve made them a loaf, they don’t want anything else, lol!

Where did you buy the “love each moment” decoration?
Crystal Paine says
It was at Dollar Tree in their Valentine’s Day decor section — for $1!

Thank you for all of the links for the apps and books and everything else! I must ask about your hedgehog book fold! I would love to know where you got it! It is the perfect gift for someone I know! Thank you!
Crystal Paine says
My sister-in-law got it off of Etsy for me for Christmas!

Teens at the library where I work made this as a craft project recently and my coworker in charge said it was easy. I’m not sure what instructions she used but it looks like there are a lot of instructions on YouTube. Go for it!
Crystal Paine says
Thanks so much for mentioning that, Kay!
