At the beginning of 2025, I set a goal to try making 12 new-to-me things that I’d never made before. (See my list here.)
In January, my project was to make Homemade Vanilla. February’s project was to make homemade focaccia bread using my sourdough starter.

Because I love all things cinnamon and sugar (especially cinnamon rolls!), I decided to try this sourdough focaccia recipe from Acts of Sourdough for Cinnamon Roll Focaccia. I’ve learned pretty much everything I know about sourdough baking from Acts of Sourdough and she has yet to steer me wrong.

Isn’t my sourdough starter cover so cute? It was a gift from Acts of Sourdough and it’s perfect for the colder months to keep your starter warmer.

This focaccia recipe takes so few ingredients! You could probably substitute sucanat or coconut sugar in the topping to make it refined sugar free!

The actual prep time for sourdough focaccia bread is very minimal, but it does require a lot of time to rise and ferment. So it’s something you’ll want to prep a day before you want to eat it.

How beautiful is that? I don’t usually use my cast iron pan to bake in, so it felt especially fun and old-fashioned!

I was so excited with how it turned out. It was delicious!

My family said this cinnamon roll focaccia was yummy, too!
