Every day, we have a choice: we can get up and look for the beauty or we can get up and be overwhelmed by all the hard problems and difficult situations of life.
Do you know what the #1 promise found in God’s Word? It’s “Do not fear!”
Yesterday’s sermon really challenged me how often when I’m frustrated and anxious over a situation, it’s because I’m fearful and forgetting that God is in control.
“Faithful living is the best antidote to fear.” Our pastor challenged us to just get up and do the next right thing that God has called us to… And that’s what I’m reminding myself of today.
(It’s Day #11 of the Go to Bed Early Challenge and I’m celebrating the fact that I went to bed by 10 pm on Friday and Saturday and was in bed by 10:20 pm last night. I think this is maybe starting to become more of a habit!!)
Are you joining me for the Go to Bed Early Challenge? If so, leave a comment on this post to let me know how you did with your go-to-bed goal last night.
We’re in this together… And if you didn’t hit your goal, that’s okay! Give yourself grace, don’t beat yourself up, and know that you can try again tomorrow!

You know, my weekend was the best I have done for a long time with going to bed on time. I did make it pretty much by 10:30 every single night.
My husband and I had a talk about going to bed earlier, as I was expressing how hard I find it sometimes. We actually discussed things like church and outings. He is currently listening to the book “Boundaries,” and has been telling me all about it. (I read it many years ago, already) In listening him talk, I recognize that I am seriously lacking in boundaries. As far as church goes, we have decided that we will leave as quickly as we can afterwards in the evenings to help us get to bed on time. I think it will we really nice having him on my team for this.

Fear and worry are my biggest enemies to a good night sleep. It helps to be reminded that I’m not alone with that struggle. Thank you.

Thanks for this post, Crystal! Faithfulness can sometimes be a very hard thing.
Finally had success with getting to bed on time on Saturday and Sunday nights – hoping to keep it up this week!

Our family is going thru something hard right now. I love the quote “faithfulness is the best antidote to fear”. So true! And you are right, we just have to get up and do the next right thing. You are a blessing, Crystal. Thanks for the encouragement again;-)
