Today is Day #7 of the Go to Bed Early Challenge and I went to bed at — wait for it! — 8:10 pm last night! Okay, so I did get back up from 10:15 pm to 11:20 pm so I could take my vitamins, talk to Jesse, and finish up a few things.
But I still feel like that early bedtime or nap or whatever we want to call it should make Day 7 of the #GotoBedEarlyChallenge a success. Right?!
This little guy is up early with me because he was super excited to go with me to a local speaking event today… And then it was cancelled because it snowed last night. Poor boy is quite heartbroken. 🙁
Are you joining me for the Go to Bed Early Challenge? If so, leave a comment on this post to let me know how you did with your go-to-bed goal last night.
We’re in this together… And if you didn’t hit your goal, that’s okay! Give yourself grace, don’t beat yourself up, and know that you can try again tomorrow!

Yay for going to bed early!! I was just discussing with a friend how rising early is a challenge but going to bed early? VERY challenging. It’s my quiet time to get projects done at our house. But my mood is significantly better on the days I go to bed before 10.
“But my mood is significantly better on the days I go to bed before 10.”
SO true!
I had Mom’s Night last night and I stayed way too late and didn’t get home until 10:30. The problem is, I always have to wind down, so I didn’t end up asleep until about 11:30. I chatted with a friend, yesterday, who told me how she prays that God will wake her up in the mornings for prayer time and he does. I decided to try it out. Guess what I was up at 5:20-though I didn’t get up until 5:40. So I went to bed too late, but I was up early. I will get this thing, yet.
Got to bed on time last night and am feeling good today. On Sunday night I stayed up too late watching the Super Bowl and was really dragging on Monday. Feeling so much better today!
Yay! So glad you’re feeling good today!
Had a moms night last night and got home late and went to sleep after 11. Trying again tonight. If at first you don’t succeed, try try (1000 times?) again.
My husband and I are in bed by 10pm every night. We have about an hour together after the kids go to bed to talk or get caught up on any Netflix shows we are watching. He’s up by 5am every morning, so 10 is about as late as he can go :). Before kids I would go to bed about 1am…now, after kids, I am neither a morning nor a night person. I am a sleep person 🙂
I love that you’re a SLEEP person! That made me smile! 🙂
Wow… that’s quite an early bedtime! Congrats! That definitely counts as success!
I went to bed at 10:30 and was up at 5:45… Doing well so far. 🙂
Awe poor Silas. 🙁 At least there is snow.
Hey so I am wondering if you might address situations like this. My husband has a night & weekend type of job and some nights doesn’t get home until 9:45-10:00. He always wants to talk about the day (and so do I!) but by the time we go to bed, it’s 11 or so. Annnnnnd then the baby gets up at 6. I work so napping isn’t an option. How could this be managed? Any ideas? On nights my husband doesn’t work, we go to bed between 9:30 and 10.
I’m going to chime in if that’s okay 🙂 My husband’s schedule fluctuates a lot at times and from week to week and can make a consistent go to bed/ wake up time challenging. I watched this scope Crystal did during the “wake up early challenge” and found it helpful for tips about having a different type of schedule and sleep etc. https://www.katch.me/MoneySavingMom/v/d3ceeab9-bcdf-38a0-97fb-2b6a23b579f8.
Oh wow, 8:10, that’s awesome!!! I really should aim for an earlier bedtime Sunday-Thursday as well.
It’s funny, I can’t take vitamins at night or I have trouble sleeping. Probably because of the Vitamin D3. But I do take extra D3. I have found D3 helps with anxiety, winter blues, mental clarity, and energy levels, among many other things! I have to take it in the morning or afternoon, though
