I did another Kroger pick-up trip this week! I felt like the deals weren’t quite as good and I forgot to use my $10 off $100 coupon that I got in a mailer (though they were out of some of the things, so my total was under $100 so I’m not sure if it would have worked), but I still got some good deals!
Here’s what I got for $97…

The pasta sauce is $1.49/jar and the avocados are $1.99 for a 4-count bag.

Cheese (32-ounces) is $5.99 with the digital coupon and you can get up to five. This price is a little more than the $1.29/8 ounce deal we’ve seen in recent months, but it’s still a great stock-up price — especially if you go through cheese as quickly as we do!
The best deal of the week was the oatmeal packets for $0.99/box — and you could get up to five boxes with the digital coupon. Our kids love to have this for breakfast!

The pasta is $1.25 so we had spaghetti this week for dinner (we used ground turkey in the sauce that I’d gotten from a recent deal). And the Progresso soup is $0.99/can so we’re using that for a quick dinner one night this week, too!

So all total, it was $97 for all these groceries. (And I forgot to include three bags of frozen veggies and one tub of ice cream I also got that I stuck in the freezer as so as we got home from the store… and then forgot to pull back out for the pictures!)

One thing I’ve been noticing with Kroger pick-up is that there are a few coupons most weeks that can only be used with pick-up and delivery. So this week, there was a coupon for a free gallon of distilled water. Since I use this every day for my sinus rinse, I was excited about that deal!

I’ve been surprised at how well it’s been working to use Kroger pick-up! I had always felt like I probably would spend more since I wouldn’t be able to take advantage of the in-store markdowns, but for this season, being able to order online and pick-up has been saving me a good hour each week and that has been worth spending a tiny bit more. Plus, I’m finding that we’re staying stocked up for the most part on enough food to make meals from, too!
So I’d highly recommend trying grocery pick-up if you haven’t to see if it might be something that’s helpful and time-saving for you! If you’ve tried grocery pick-up, I’d love to know whether you prefer grocery pick-up or shopping in-store? Let us know in the comments!
You can get $10 cash back for submitting a receipt with five cans of Progresso soup (or $25 back for ten cans) here: https://homeappetitreward.com/

Whoa!! Thank you for that tip!
I love pick up but I hate not getting a paper receipt to use for apps that you can get cash back with.
Have you tried using the receipt they email you?
I’ve been using Kroger’s pick-up service for a while and it’s fantastic! They are among the best! I love that the coupons still work with the online order. They are super accurate in fulfilling orders, and they are wonderful about picking really nice produce! Every once in a while I miss a sale because it’s a “buy five items and get $2 off each” and maybe one thing is out of stock and I didn’t choose an alternate. But in general, their pick-up is totally worth it! I’m so thankful I don’t always have to bring all my kids in to the actual store and find the items myself. So glad it’s been working so well for you too!
Yes, the buy five, get $2 off sales are a little trickier to navigate. If I’m shopping those sales, I always say no substitutions and that has seemed to work. This past week, they didn’t have the 5 pound bags of potatoes that were $1.99 with the digital coupon so they offered me 7 pound bags. But I was afraid I would get charged the normal pre-coupon price for those so I just declined the substitution (and yes, I know I could sort it out with customer service and they’d likely honor the coupon price, but it would be complicated and I didn’t need potatoes, so I just kept it simple!)
I have used grocery pick up many times. But I have found at my Kroger over half of the items I needed always seemed to be out of stock. It happened so much that I decided to go into the store after I picked up my groceries and found that most of the “out of stock items” were there. I stopped using the service at my local Kroger. I’m not sure why, but I did that more than once, just to give them the benefit of the doubt.
That’s frustrating! But I’m glad you figured out what works best for you!
I love Kroger pick up. We use WIC which won’t work for pickup. So I make a pickup order for the non WIC items and then run into the store to grab a few WIC items. I have a limited amount of time that my husband can watch my kids and I hate shopping with all four in tow (not to mention I run out of room in the cart). I also use Walmart and Sam’s club pickup. I like that I can easily price compare between them as I fill my online cart.
It sounds like you’ve found some great systems that work for your family! Thank you for sharing!
I prefer to shop in-store so that I can pick the fresh fruits/veges myself. I have had not too much luck with the fresh items when I have used pickup. Also I love the markdowns I can get in store. I usually do one pick up per month, and several instore trips per month. Our family is grown and has moved away so I’m only cooking for my dh (76) and myself (72) so we don’t use as many groceries as we once did.
I’ve been so impressed with the fruit/veggies my shoppers have picked out! I’ve heard from others in other areas that that’s no always the case.
