Zaycon
This is my first time buying Ground Turkey from Zaycon – and once again, I am quite pleased with my purchase! It tastes good and has a good texture (I did have to add a little water – oil would work too – to the pan when I was frying it, as it isn’t fatty at ALL). It comes in 40 individually wrapped 1lb packages. It is already frozen – although the “packaged on” date was just about a week old (which I’m guessing is a whole lot fresher than much of the frozen meat you buy in the store!). I would definitely buy it again in the future! 🙂 If you haven’t tried Zaycon , I highly recommend it!

I’m so sorry you’ve had such disappointing experiences! I hate that you and I have had such different encounters with the same company. 🙁 We haven’t tried the shrimp or the sausage, so I can’t say anything about the quality of either. We do buy the cheapest 80/20 ground beef they sell (It doesn’t sound like this is the kind you purchased), and we like that. It IS greasy (we like the texture though) but I almost always mix it with ground venison, which is extremely dry. So I want something with some fat to balance out the venison. As far as them changing the date both times, I haven’t had that experience at all, but I would be super frustrated as well if I were you (and obviously, I would NOT be promoting them here! :)) Again, I’m so sorry!
I have bought from Zaycon twice now. Both times they have changed dates at the last minute, and as I am working and 45 minutes away, it is hard to change my plans around. As for the meat? The ground chuck is not as good as my local meat market as it seems more like the cheaper hamburger than chuck. The sausage links are also not the best, maybe about medium grade with a greasy mushy texture. I also got the shrimp which is very good. It does smell fishy but the taste was good. Not sure if I will try them again. Been tempted to try the chicken breasts but have read some bad reviews on that.
