I would be interested in finding out how you like the Market Pantry frozen broccoli. I usually find Target brand items to be of a good quality but bought a bag of these one time and they were nothing but stalks. Have never purchased them again. I was wondering if I just got a bad bag.
Nice 🙂 I am always in awe of the price of flour where you live!
Right now the Mom’s Best Cereals are on Cartwheel for 20% off making them .80 each!!
I know – that is what I keep seeing everyone else say. But for some reason, those offers are NOT showing up for me on cartwheel. I don’t use it very often so I am not super familiar with it. Not sure what i am doing wrong? The cereals are still worth $1 a box to me though. 🙂
I’m curious what your plans are for your lemons? I’m asking because I received 9 lemons in a CSA basket. I don’t usually buy many lemons and want to make sure I make good use of them. 🙂
I don’t do anything fancy
I don’t do anything fancy with them, but maybe others can chime in with some ideas for you. I like to drink hot water with fresh squeezed lemon in it in the morning when I wake up. I also regularly drink the THM drink Singing Canary (you can google it) for health reasons, and it takes lemons. I squeeze lemon and olive oil over my salads instead of using bottled salad dressings. As far as other things you could do with with them… baking with fresh lemon juice is awesome! Lemon poppyseed bread, lemon bars, anything with a lemon glaze; they add a pop to smoothies or homemade fresh salsa. I also LOVE just having a bowl of lemons on my counter as a decoration (that we eventually eat :)). They are so bright and sunny and just make me happy. 🙂
Thanks so much for your reply and all the suggestions, I appreciate it!
I have to try the sliced baked potatoes the next time I make baked potatoes. They look really good. One MSM recipe that has become a go-to recipe for me is the Meat Potato Quiche. We had a parent breakfast at my school and I made a large casserole sized quiche and everyone loved it. One of my co-workers asked to take some leftovers home and said it was the best quiche she’d had in a long time. I made a pie sized one for my own family and had it again for dinner. I always pack leftovers for my lunch, so in the past two days, I’ve had it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It’s so good, I can’t complain.
As for my own shopping, I stayed within my weekly budget and picked up a lot of fruit since we will be home for spring break. Lately the kids are constantly hungry and I wanted more snacking options. I was beyond excited to find strawberries for $.98/lb, pears for $.99/lb and white grapes for $.99/lb. I grabbed more apples, bananas, and even reduced price nectarines. My boys are very happy. I will bake them some muffins and healthy-ish cookie options, too.
Those are great produce prices! I am SO glad you like the Meat Potato Quiche – we love it too. 🙂
