Nice job, as always. I am just a tiny bit envious of your box of zucchini. 🙂 I haven’t yet totaled my receipts, but I’m sure I’m close to the top of my budget. I’d really wanted to cut back this week, but instead I engaged in budget killing behavior: I forgot about the pot luck lunch at work so made a quick trip to the store for overpriced cookies and chips, I made 2 quick shopping trips with kids after errands, I shopped without menu planning, and I shopped without a list. I am going to work on my menu in a few minutes. The good news is that I have a lot in the pantry, fridge, and freezer to work with… sigh.
It’s amazing how much more I spend if I shop without a list and menu planning (or even worse, send my husband to the store without a list!! :)). At least you have alot to work with, like you said. Happy menu planning!
I can’t imagine the time it takes to write and type up these posts. Thank you!!
Do y’all eat cottage cheese on your baked potatoes? I’ve never heard of that. My children and I eat cottage cheese alongside mashed potatoes and think it’s great but my husband very strongly dislikes cottage cheese, so we try to refrain from this combo at supper time, and just enjoy it at lunch since he’s working. 😉
Your menu looks amazing as always. Enjoy your week! 🙂
Haha! We do different lunch combos at my house too!! There are certain foods that are not allowed at dinnertime (pickles and bananas are two that my children are not allowed to even mention ;)). Yes, we do top our potatoes with cottage cheese. We ate them like that growing up (in place of sour cream). Maybe we are the only ones???
I hope you have a wonderful week too! 🙂
We will have to try the baked potatoes that way very soon. My children will try any new food or combo….my husband, not so much. He has several foods that are just a no-no. Cottage cheese is near the top of that list. Another thing he doesn’t like at all is cooked peaches. As in, peach pie, peach cobbler etc. He says cooked/ cooking peaches smell like feet!! My children and I really enjoy peach pie topped with vanilla ice cream, so I have to make it for us when he isn’t home, and then literally open the windows for the house to air out! My children just think it is the absolute funniest thing! Well, this year one of our daughters birthdays falls on fathers day. So I told her to figure out with daddy what y’all would like to have for supper that night. He told her she should pick the dessert since it was her birthday and they would decide together on the meal. She pipes right up and says…”I want mommy to make a PEACH PIE!” 🙂 🙂 🙂
I really feel like I need to move next to a Harris Teeter 🙂 Anybody know if they do double coupons at the Nashville store?
Harris Teeter is THE BEST! I seriously can’t gush enough about specific HT I shop at – from the employees, to customer service, to prices/coupon policies, to the actual quality of merchandise… no comparison to any other grocery store I have ever shopped at! I don’t know about the Nashville stores doubling coupons – have you googled it? Otherwise, I would try calling the Nashville stores.
Nice job! Thanks for sharing 🙂
You are welcome! Thanks for reading 😉
