In 2023, I set a goal to finish one book per week. I’m aiming to listen to 30 minutes of an audiobook per day (while cooking, cleaning, and/or driving) and read 10 minutes of a book. By doing this, I hope to fairly easily be able to finish one book per week.
You can follow along on GoodReads to see what I’m reading, what books I finish, and the star rating I give each of them.
Book #4: A Faith That Will Not Fail
Michele Cushatt is a personal friend and a woman who knows what suffering and heartbreak is all about. She’s walked numerous really difficult seasons of life — including multiple cancer diagnoses, divorce, and more.
In this honest book, she shares 10 practices for when it feels like your world is falling apart. Each practice includes 5 short chapters followed by a practical faith-building exercises to help you walk out what you are reading about in tangible ways.
This would be a very helpful resource to give to someone who is walking through hard, hurt, and/or heartbreak. It’s like little bite-sized doses of hope to hold your hand as you walk through darkness, disappointment, or discouragement.
For a sampling of some of the book’s content, be sure to listen to my podcast episode with Michele from this past week here.
Verdict: 3 stars
