It’s a big week this week! Part of my team/film crew are flying in today for us to film a new 14-day course — Make Over Your Evenings — on Tuesday and Wednesday. And then I’m gearing up for leaving for a 10-day trip to Italy and Israel at the end of next week!!
I’ve been chipping away at preparations and planning for the last few weeks, so I feel like things are in pretty good shape for both big projects, but I knew that it wouldn’t hurt to start my morning with some “natural Xanax”– a few drops of each of these essential oils rubbed on my feet. I’m following that up with prayer, reading God’s Word, and quietly sipping my coffee while the house is still asleep.
(Note: I don’t sell essential oils and I use and like multiple brands. )
(It’s Day #16 of the Go to Bed Early Challenge and I was in bed by 10:20 p.m. last night. More and more, that seems to be the ideal time for me. I’ll keep shooting for 10 p.m., but I’m also good with giving myself a little wiggle room because 10:20 p.m. is still a great bedtime, in my opinion, if I stick with it very consistently!)
Are you joining me for the Go to Bed Early Challenge? If so, leave a comment on this post to let me know how you did with your go-to-bed goal last night.
We’re in this together… And if you didn’t hit your goal, that’s okay! Give yourself grace, don’t beat yourself up, and know that you can try again tomorrow!

I suffer from anxiety but can’t tell what the name of the essential oils you mention. Could you tell me please. Also have a great time on your trip!
Could someone post the recipe to natural xanax. I had an anxiety attack just this weekend. Thanks so much.
If you don’t mind what are some of the brands of ESO do you like to use?
I use DoTerra, Young Living, and Plant Therapy brands most often.
I have a bachelors of Science degree in dietetics. I am a wellness and nutrition educator as well as educator on safe essential oil usage. I love the oils mentioned about, and have found they help support the nervous system for many of my friends and people I consult. I always add with oils and prayer, a healthy life style and getting out at least once a day maybe only 5 minutes for a little walk also helps refresh the soul. 🙂 Hope all goes well for you this week.
Hope you have a great time away! That sounds amazing (says the never been outside of North America girl) and something I wish I could do. I love both those essential oils you pictured. I have dealt with some anxiety issues here and there and they always help me calm down. I also don’t sell them, but that just happens to be the only brand I’ve ever used because Mom did and I liked them after I tired them.
I can’t wait to hear more about your trip to Israel and Italy!!!!!
I can’t WAIT to share more about it!
Wow, I’ve never heard of the “natural xanax” with the essential oils…very interesting! Putting that on my “to try” list for sure!
Last night I read from a paper book before going to sleep. It’s definitely better for me to that instead of reading on my phone or tablet…puts me to sleep much faster!
I keep forgetting about the natural Xanax! I am going to use it today. I purchased some of the pre diluted equivalent from plant therapy someone on your Instagram had mentioned way back when you posted this on Instagram (and when I was actively on Instagram). Anxiety is definitely something I have to work hard to keep at bay. I’m looking forward to listening to today’s scope to hear more about the vitamins you take.
Also I am so excited for you and your trip to Italy and Isreal! What an opportinity. I am looking forward to hearing about it and I’m sure catching from you an even more contagious enthusiasm for the Bible as a result of your time there!
I’ve been really limiting my online time so if I’m not back on commenting prior to you leaving I wanted to let you know now that I will be praying for your trip and time there! I’m continually amazed at witnessing Ephesians 3:20 in your life and seeing it play out continues to build my faith!
Oh and I will for sure be taking Make Over Your Evenings. Definitely looking forward to that :)!
Thank you SO much! I’m really excited about it — though also a wee bit scared since traveling to a new country “by myself” is definitely outside my comfort zone!
Ehi, I’m in Italy! I’d love to treat you to a cup of coffee or gelato or whatever (you’ve been such an inspiration for many years).
🙂
I am looking forward to hearing more about your upcoming trips!
