I was just scrolling through and the chocolate cranberry energy bites caught my attention. Those look delicious!

They are SO good! They’ve become my before-bedtime snack… which means I need to make more very soon!

The Amish Cinnamon Bread – is that plain flour or self rising?

  • Kara March 11, 2013 at 11:33 am

This is probably one of my favorite parts of your blog. Its so nice to get a peak into what other moms are serving their families. Plus I have tried so many of the recipes with great success!

    Thank you!

That cinnamon bread sounds great. I’ll have to try that.

Here’s my menu. I’m still relying on the freezer meals I made a few weeks ago.

Here’s our gluten free/dairy free menu. For the first time in a year, I had a big freezer cooking session last weekend, and now I get to enjoy the rewards of that!

It would help if I put the link ;)

I’m currently feeding 5 (big) kiddies and an every-hungry dh! I try to feed us for between $5 and $10 a day.

    The chocolate-cranberry bites look yummy!!!

  • Allyson @ All Our Days March 11, 2013 at 01:38 pm

We just tried the lentil and black bean soup last night. I had to substitute homemade tomato sauce for the diced tomatoes. The soup was pretty good, but next time I would up the garlic and use less water since it was pretty runny after mashing it up (I used my immersion blender for about 15 seconds) and we like thicker soups (easier for the kids to eat).

      Thanks for the input!

I am hoping to get a little pantry cooking done this week. I am hoping to get a few mixes made along with some cream of soup mix done too.

Here is our menu for this week. I am using my crock pot a few times, I am making a stretch meal to stretch meat leftovers into a new meal and a few skillet dishes too.

I’ve been having fun with our menu the past couple of weeks. This week I themed it around the color green for St. Patricks Day.
I tried to incorporate green in just about every meal.
We had pesto mac and cheese for dinner tonight and I can’t wait to try the other recipes I found. Quite a few of them are gluten free or vegetarian too. :)

The Amish Cinnamon bread is in the oven, right now, thanks for all the great recipes!

    • Crystal March 12, 2013 at 08:28 am

I’d love to hear how it turned out!

      • Julie March 12, 2013 at 10:34 am

It is def moist. I think per her picture she swirled the bread and then sprinkled the rest of the cinna sugar on top, not the other way around as stated in the recipe. I thought it was good, i like the texture and moistness of it but for the amount of butter and sugar in the recipe I thought it would have more taste to it. We all ate it for breakfast today makes a good breakfast bread not really a dessert bread :)
