Reader Tip: New Discounts & Savings Offers on Swagbucks = Great Local Deals!

Victoria from Snail Pace Transformations emailed in the following tip:

I just noticed the new “Discount and Savings” tab on Swagbucks. This new tab contains coupons that start at just 50 swagbucks for places such as McDonald’s, White Castle, Papa Murphy’s, and Steak and Shake.

The deals are all local so what you will find will vary depending on where you live. In my area you can get a Free McCafe for just 50 points, but the coupon is only good for one of my areas McDonald locations so really read all the fine print before you spend your points. -Victoria

I think we should be very careful of this one. I just looked at the tab and it does give local things you can purchase, however I looked at one for Family Video in my town and it was for free kids movies for 50 Swagbucks. Well Family Video always does free kids movies so why would you buy something that is free already. I would be careful.

Yes I noticed that too like the one for Joann’s is the same coupon you get when you sign up for their mailing list. Others however like the McDonald’s ones are for items you normally could not get free. So again it boils down to reading the fine print and knowing the deals you can already get else where.

I too noticed the Joann’s coupon, which you can get for free…then I quite looking as it didn’t seem something I was interested in. But I guess I will have to look again, carefully!

I noticed this tab the other day as well. It looks like they are a subset of the entertainment book coupons. We were given an entertainment book last year and used only a couple of the coupons in it. I’d never purchase one myself since we rarely go out to eat or do the things featured in the book. But being able to buy a couple coupons with swagbucks seems a great way to enjoy the few discounts we might actually use. As Marie said, though, be sure to check things out first. I remember at least some of the entertainment book coupons not being valid on holidays, etc.
