Whew! Things have been a little crazy here the past 48 hours with our garage sale that turned out much bigger and better than we were expecting!
We're in a good location and we had a lot of great deals, but I didn't expect for it to be as crazy as it's been. However, it's been a wonderful kind of crazy because it's meant that my house is now very clutter-free again (I try so hard to stay on top of clutter, but it seems to breed in our closets when I'm not looking!).
We're doing a "Fill a Bag for a $1" special this morning with all the leftovers and people are loving that! We're loving it, too, because it means less stuff leftover after the sale is over with! 🙂
I haven't touched my computer much in the last few days so I have dozens of deals to share with you. I have my laptop in the garage and am going to try and catch up on blogging in between helping customers. Stay tuned for an avalanche of posts!

Would love to know how much you made at your garage sale. Is it really worth all of the effort and time to put it on?

Looks like I’m not the first to ask for more details about the yard sale. I have one scheduled in a couple weeks and I can use all the tips you are willing to share. Good luck! Hope you make a fortune 🙂

It would be great (when you have time) to do a post on your garage sale, your strategy…a bit of a “how-to.” There are so many of us who look to your blog for helps with saving/earning money and controlling clutter that I think some tips would be really well received. I live in Florida, so our Garage Sale season is just starting. I am planning on doing one in October, and I would love to hear your strategy. Thanks for your blog!

That’s great you had a successful garage sale! It’s so fun to see the stuff go and the money pile up!!! My kids had a lemonade stand and sold lemonade for $.25 a cup. They made $19.80!!!! Some people were very generous and gave them a dollar bill for their cup! We will definately be doing that again next year!

Probably too late to ask…but it would have been really neat to see a before/after picture of your sale. You know, some pics of your tables piled high with your items for sale, and then a pic of what was left over.
I’ve never done a yard sale. How do you decide what to sell? How do you decide what to charge? What types of items did you sell this time?

I see a house fund increasing!!! Great job with the sale.

I love that $1 fill a bag idea! So much easier than halling it away and you still make a few bucks.

That’s such a great idea in order to get rid of the leftovers! I’ll have to use that next time I have a sale!
