This morning, this mug is serving as a reminder to me that I was created for a purpose. I want to be intentional about walking out of that purpose I’ve been called to.
I don’t want to just rush through my days trying to make it to nighttime. I don’t want to run around in circles, doing busywork but accomplishing nothing of lasting value.
Living life on purpose starts by making an intentional decision to get up and do the next right thing.
Speaking of which, I’m headed to Dallas this afternoon to speak at the Business Boutique event there… So this morning, I’m doing the next right thing by making sure to take time to fill up my tank first.
This means soaking up the early morning quiet, recounting my blessings in my Gratitude Journal, spending time in the SheReadsTruth Proverbs study, and drinking Zarbee’s Cough & Throat relief as I continue to recover from this cold.

Do you know if there will be other Business Boutique events in other areas? I think I would really be energized by attending.
My next big thing is scary, as I’m leaving my full time teaching job (last day is TOMORROW) and following the desire to home school my children. Yikes!

I think there will be one in Nashville later this year… and likely more to come in the future!

Thank you so much! I’ll sign up to get updates! I enjoyed just the video clip!

Oh, I get it! I took the plunge, too, after 11 years in the classroom. And now it’s sixteen years later. While the teacher rhythm never seems to leave – I always want to start planning and scheduling and organizing in July – it is a true blessing to be able to invest so completely into my own children. You will have wonderful days, and certainly some which aren’t quite so fantastic. Enjoy the gift you’ve been given to spend time with your kids! Blessings to your family!

Thank you so much for your encouragement! This is my 19th year in the classroom. I don’t think I’ll ever get out of “teacher mode” but I can’t wait to put this energy and love for education into my own children. So many emotions today! Thanks again!

I have every intention of refilling my tank on the flight to Dallas. Man it was a whirlwind getting everything knocked out before leaving South Florida. So glad I am doing this for myself, my children and all those in the future that God places in my path. So very excited, humbled and grateful.

This is a good post, but it can certainly be hard to follow this path. For me, my next right thing for today is my 10 minute prayer time, followed by reading a book that helps me grow.
