When Marcal Small Steps first contacted me about running a review/giveaway, I have to admit I was a bit leery of their products. Something about recycled paper products just seemed a little eww to me. Maybe I’m just weird like that.

At any rate, I know some of you have mentioned you liked Marcal products and I figured at least a number of you wouldn’t mind winning some free toilet paper, napkins, paper towels, and tissues, so I said I’d run the giveaway.

Then I realized that I meant I had to try out the recycled paper products myself so I could write the review! Uh-oh!

Well, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought.

To be perfectly honest, I was unimpressed with the toilet paper and tissues. They seemed cheap and cardboard-ish to me. We often buy Aldi toilet paper, so it’s not like we’re Charmin “snobs” or something. And we don’t use paper towels at our house, so we gave those away to some friends who do.

I really liked the dinner napkins, though, and thought they were very high quality. And even if the whole recycled paper products thing is a bit of a turn-off to me, I love the fact that their products are hypoallergenic and whitened without chlorine bleaching.

    I’ve only tried the tp and the napkins and I really like the napkins! The tp is okay but since my 3 year old loves to use mass amounts of tp and plug up the toilet, I appreciate that the Marcal is one ply which means I’m less likely to end up with a plunger in hand.

    I use their products. The toilet paper might not be as soft as a charmin, but the amount of processing is so much less and so much better for the enviornment, esp since it is recycled.

    I have used the Marcal napkins for years and love them …they used to come in a draw string plastic bag and I still use the bag to store them in as it keeps the napkins I don’t use from fallout out where I store them.

    With the right coupon deals the Marcal napkins can be inexpensive. Plus, I like the drawstring bag they come in!

    BTW, switch to a store brand that is like Sprite – like Big K. I can’t tell the difference, but there is a price difference!

    I actually just recently discovered that I LOVE this toilet paper. The thing that got me (I tried them only because I had a Q) was the NO LINT factor. Ugh, I hate all the stuff that flies off a roll of “regular” toilet paper! Count me in!

    I have started to go green. I love the fact that this product recycles. I am the type of person who likes to try an item out before I make the investment, as I am sure most of us are. My local stores only sell this brand in large quantities. I live in a belt of double/triple coupons at about 4 different grocery stores.     The Marcal products are pretty good. I’ve only tried the tissues, which were okay (I usually use Scotties, which I can get for very close to free sometimes). I got the tissues from with a coupon though, so I really can’t complain about them- they still get the job done. I’d love to try the other products too!

    I think that all toilet paper and paper products should be made from recycled paper….I think it is a sin that we are chopping down trees by the square mile to make toilet paper! I love Marcal. Marcal is the only company that I know of that is reasonably priced, offers recycled products and you can usually find many coupons available.

    Actually I love the napkins, even though they are recycled – havent tried anything else, but would like to try. I especially am surprised at the price- since the eco-friendly things tend to be more pricey- and their are good coupons in the paper often, so even better!

    Would love this! THis is the only brand I buy for my paper products. The paper towels last us forever since they rip at the small size so you don’t waste a big sheet all the time. The kleenes is a little stiff BUT I buy it because it’s chlorine free/eco friendly and you get used to it after awhile.

    While the TP is not the highest quality, we go through so much in our house that cheap (or free) is awesome! The last time I went shopping I found 2 coupons that someone had left behind in the store. The TP was on sale, so I got 8 rolls free, plus almost free paper towels.

    I LOVE Marcal products. I’m a health freak and an environment fanatic so it makes me feel great to use them; plus I personally love the texture though I know many people don’t. The napkins can get on the pricey side though the toilet paper is possible to get for a semi-reasonable price. Still, they are a wonderful brand and I’d be delighted to win this giveaway.
