If you’ve followed here for awhile, you know how passionate I am about South Africa and the ministry there (Take Action Ministry) that you all help to fund by visiting this site on a regular basis (thank you so much!)
Take Action Ministry is a registered non-profit organization based in South Africa and run by the locals there. They have 17 different Partner Centres that reach some of the most vulnerable children there — many who come from child-headed households. The Centres provide food, tutoring, and a safe place for kids to go to after school (or during school for the toddlers and babies). Most of all, they teach kids about Jesus and help them learn character and a strong work ethic.

We’ve gotten to go and visit many of these Centres and see the work they are doing and spend time with the children and care-givers. Understanding just how much of a difference they are making is the reason we give a big portion of our personal income to help fund this ministry.

How you can make a difference in lives of children in South Africa!
I wanted to invite you to be involved in the work they are doing this Christmas. These 17 Centres reach and impact around 1000 children and we’d like to partner with Take Action Ministry to provide a small gift bag to each of these 1000 children for Christmas.
Each gift bag will include a toothbrush, toothpaste, a face cloth, a bar of soap, a small toy, a package of candy, and a stationery pack. I can only imagine how much these children’s faces are going to light up with joy and delight when they realize they all get their own Christmas gift bags!!

Give $10 = Bring So Much Joy to a Child
The gift bags will cost $10 each in US dollars and Take Action Ministry is hoping to raise enough donations in the next few weeks to buy 1000 gift bags.
Would you pray about donating $10 (or more!) to provide a gift bag for one of these children — and to bring so much joy to them this Christmas? Or maybe your kids would like to come up with creative ways to earn money to pay for a Christmas bag for a child in South Africa? I can’t wait to hear what you come up with.
Thank you, in advance, for being part of this special opportunity!
It feels me with joy to donate to this endeavor. I know your heart and trust you Chrystal.
Thank you SO much!!
I love that you are doing this! What a wonderful cause! Thank you for sharing this with us. 🙂
You are so welcome!
Hi Crystal, I just wanted to pay you a compliment. Since I have areas where I already donate, I’m not planning on donating to this organization. But I just love your answer to the above questions and how you have such integrity in the things that you support.
Thank you so much for your encouragement!
I would love to donate but I feel the same as the others. How do you know the $10.00 really goes to helping the children?
Jesse is on the board and we see where every penny goes every single year — which is why we donate such a large portion of our income to this ministry (because they are so careful and wise with their money). I can assure you that the money will go directly to this cause. Just so you know, this blog funds the majority of the operating costs for Take Action Ministry so that fundraisers like this can go directly to paying for the supplies, etc. and not overhead costs. I hope that helps! I rarely share opportunities like this unless it is something I am really personally involved in, know the people personally, and have seen with my own eyes exactly where money is going and how it is being handled.
Thank you for responding. Count me in.
THANK YOU!
Serious, genuine question… I would love to donate, but I am always skeptical about my money actually going to what the charity says it is going to be used for (or at least most of it… I do realize there is a cost to run a charity). I know you’ve been heavily involved with this ministry. How can you confirm that the donations will be used for this purpose FOR SURE?
Yes, I agree and do you have a picture of the pack they get?
They will be sharing lots of pictures on social media of the packs when they distribute them. Be sure to follow their FB page linked in the post.
