My Walgreens is sometimes out of sale items at 8:05 when it opens at 8:00.
But I got two sets of markers, two sets of goody color hair clips, two kids omega3-DHA (for my two granddaughters). Then I got 2 of the Celadrin Joint health for me. I did it in two trips, and they let me do 4 transactions each trip. I paid very little because I started out with a $5RR from last week on the first trip, and an $8rr from the first trip to start the second trip. I also picked up one of the Contact solution deals for a neighbor who’s husband works construction and there isn’t any around here except for the big road construction projects usually using out of state contractors. (I live between Roanoke and Blacksburg, VA out in the sticks).
I went to Walgreens tonight and just happened upon this pampers deal. They are clearancing out certain pampers training pants.
Pampers SIZE 4: $3.19 a pack girls only! and used -1.50coupon and got $3 rr whoo!
Sent hubby for scissors and he also scooped up the sharpie Jessica mentioned.
The one RR per item per day is reasonable if you ask me. It gives many more people a chance to get in on a good deal and not have wasted there time, energy, and gas when there is no stock left by Sunday afternoon!!
I do not understand the no multiple transactions change though. That is a shame. Walgreens and their coupon and RR policy and rules are complicated enough. I am a seasoned couponer and I hardly ever share any Walgreens deals with my friends because they don’t always understand all the details of the deal or their deals don’t turn out right due to Walgreens complications. I haven’t encountered the no multiple transaction experience yet (I barely shop there anymore myself) but I will be irritated when it happens. When I do go, I only do 2 seperate transactions. On the rare occasion, I have done 3, but only at the cosmetics counter.
I bought the crest mouth wash for 1.99 after Q, received 1 rr applied it toward the kids DHA fish oil vitamins ($6 after RR) and then used the 7rr it printed out for the school supplies at walgreens…. plus scored some great hair clips for $2 receive a $2 rr and purchase crayola markers and get another 2 RR for additional supplies…
A few weeks ago a new cashier at Wags told me I could not do multiple transactions. There was a sign at the front with a New Coupon Policy. I double checked with the cashier at the cosmetics counter who explained that you are limited to one RR deal per item per day. And that the cashier just didn’t understand – it was a little confusing. I think they are limiting the quantities because of the the shelf clearers??? I’ve not tried to do 2 back to back transactions again – so I don’t know if this is still true.
Has anyone else had issues with their WG not letting them “roll” their RR? I was just informed of this new store policy today (I’m in MD).
I’ve heard this complaint sooo many times… It is making it’s way through walgreens!! I don’t coupon there, too complicated when I have my coupon friendly CVS 2 blocks away…. BUT YESS!!! It seems to be true!!
What do you mean? They won’t let you do 2 back-to-back transactions using Register Rewards from the first?
You can still use them the same day, right???
Maybe I can go in a second time with a disguise, ha ha ha :).
Yeah, when I got there she asked how many transactions I had, and then when i told her 4, she said I couldn’t do back to back transactions to roll my RRs. I told her i hadn’t heard of this and she let me do it this one time, but i guess it’s a new policy, but can vary by store… I’m assuming you can go back later in the day or week, but i have 2 toddlers (3 & 1) so it’s not feasible for me to do that… It just stinks because they have such good deals when you can roll the rewards.
Cara– I agree… It’s just not worth my time when my Rite Aid & CVS are coupon friendly. 🙂

I just ran into Walgreens and bought 2 packs of washable markers (thin and large) each for $2 in two separate transactions and got 2 register rewards. I then rolled one of the $2 to buy Sharpie Markers (wide) $1.49 and 2 packs of Papermate Highlighters 6 packs for $.39 each Total $2.39 with tax less $2.00 RR, Paid $.39. I will head back and get another 2 packs and then use the RR for School Supplies that are on Sale.
sharpie 2 pks have a wags coupon in the flier that make them .69 cents… take your reciept back and get the credit
I just LOVE how you are not afraid to spend money. Even just trying to teach family and friends couponing, I’ve noticed that we’ve gotten kind of spoiled by good deals. They refuse to pay money for stuff. Which is fine I guess… but its almost like, Hey, even without couponing and stuff, THIS IS A GOOD Deal! Oh well. LOL
