I made the scones recipe this week…….not sure what I did wrong but they turned out very dry……had awesome flavor but even my biscuits are not that dry and as far as I have been told, scones are similar to biscuits……help………
Be sure to check out my recipe for Healthified No Bake Chocolate Cookies-they are suppppper yummy!

Question: Since you are eating your bread machine butter rolls more than once this week, are you making the dough once and just dividing it in half and then baking or are you baking them all at once?
I have a question about the dough and it rising. I made those bread sticks and loved them but would like to freeze the dough. I read under the breadstick comments where you said to freeze dough before rising…but doesn’t it rise in the machine? Same with this dough….when exactly do i freeze it and how does it work when I want to bake it. I am a working mom and don’t have time to run a dough cycle after work for that nights dinner but would love to be able to do the fresh bread. as far as these rolls…if i froze them woudl I freeze just the dough and then make them up or freeze them ready to bake. thanks in advance for the info…sorry if my questions sound dumb…i just don’t want to waste by doing it wrong. I love your site and come to it EVERYDAY!

I haven’t made cinnamon rolls in a long time. Yummy! I will have to make some again soon.
Here is my quick and easy budget recipe menu plan for the week.

Leave me comments on my blog about ideas for new recipes to try. Running out of ideas! Thanks!
Here is my menu http://thebusylittlebee425.blogspot.com/2011/11/weedly-menu.html
For breakfast we will be eating Amish Baked Oatmeal, which you posted a few months ago. My family loves it! Thanks for posting it.
We are back on track this week with shopping and menu planning.
I made cinnamon rolls Sunday morning for our breakfast before church, and THEN for Bible study in our house. I have a Crockpot Cinnamon Roll recipe that I’d really like to try, too.
Here is our menu for the week:

Are you going to mix up the scone dough and freeze it, or shape them and freeze them?
I just did the dry ingredients for the scone mix since it seems like these scones taste better mixed up fresh.
I really want to make these cinnamon rolls! They look sooo yummy! I don’t own a bread machine. I do own a brand new Kitchen Aid mixer. Could I use that to mix up the dough? Do you have directions for those of us who don’t own bread machines?
I ate at Sonic the other day and was shocked at how cheap their lunch special was. I got enough for my daughter and I to share for 4 dollars! Glad to see your menu’s and regular blog posts are back.
I am making the Cheesy Chicken and Rice Bake for the first time tonight and I’m looking forward to it. Precooked my chicken over the weekend so it’ll be easy peasy. 🙂
Those cinnamon rolls look absolutely delicious! I haven’t had my breadmachine out in years. My year end goal is to get it out and start trying some of the great bread recipes I’ve been seeing.
Here is my menu for the week. Nothing to fancy but the baked haddock I cooked was wonderful and so easy!

I made the cinnamon roll recipe dairy and egg-free a few weeks ago. They were a huge hit and so easy. I think I may have used whole wheat flour as well (can’t remember). I’ll definitely make them again soon.
Here is my late allergy-friendly meal plan (I don’t post it until Tuesday.).

I made cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting over the weekend using this recipe:

So good! To save time in the mornings, I make the dough the day before, slice the buns and put them in the refrigerator overnight. Next day, I just bake with 5 – 10 additional minutes added to the listed baking time.
Our Dinner Meal Plan this week:

Here’s our menu for the week. I made the beef with broccoli tonight (and added onions and mushrooms) and it was awesome! I’ll post the recipe next week (or s0)!

I noticed that you listed “scone mix”. Scones actually freeze REALLY well! I would make them up until you put the cinnamon sugar on top. Cut them apart and flash freeze on a cookie sheet. I bake them right from the freezer and just add a few minutes to the baking time. Makes for a super quick breakfast!
I’ve frozen them in the past, but they didn’t taste quite as yummy as fresh, so I decided since I’ll be bringing these to events, to just save a little time by mixing up the dry ingredients ahead of time and then make them fresh that day.
can you recommend an affordable bread maker?
** I meant bread machine
Amazon has a West Bend that I purchased with Swagbucks for around $57 about 2 months ago. This is my second West Bend and I have been happy with both of them. (I wore the forst one out!)
I will be making those cinnamon rolls this weekend. They look amazing! I love how you added your freezer cooking to the menu that is very helpful.
Here is my menu plan for the week http://www.skinnymomskitchen.com/2011/11/29/weekly-menu-plan-november-28th-december-4th-plus-weight-loss-goals/
I wish my picky eaters would eat half of these menu options! How in the world do you get your kiddo’s to eat such a wide variety!
Those cinnamon rolls look so good! Unfortunately, my son is allergic to cinnamon and there is just no way I could make anything that looks that tastey and expect him to watch others eat it. 🙁 I really need to get back to menu planning. Due to my husband’s knee surgery and a string of sicknesses, I actually made it through November without a menu plan. It feels so very wrong. I’m going to have to start planning for December. Menu planning reduces stress and saves money.
Here’s our menu plan for this week, including the chicken enchilada recipe you linked to (what a treat to find the perfect recipe to use what I have):

Your holiday baking sounds yummy, and the quiche sounds interesting.
Here’s my plan for the week.

Wow! You’re doing a lot of cooking this week! 🙂 Your menu sounds very diverse and interesting! 😀
I made the soup last week. It was great and super easy since I had most of the veggies already cut up in the freezer. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
Finally got mine together again 🙂

Hey There–How do you make the glazed cinnamon scones freezer friendly? Do you bake them ahead of time and then freeze. I would like to make these for Christmas but don’t know exactly when to stop and just freeze. Any help would be great!
I’m making these things: http://anestintherocks.blogspot.com/2011/11/menu-plan-monday-november-28-2011.html
The black bean and enchilada casserole sounds great!
It’ts cold and rainy here, and I love to have something in te crockpot on days like this. Here is what we had tonight, simple and delicious.
Rice and Hamburger Casserole

We will have the left overs tomorrow for lunch, in a tortilla. 🙂
The cheesy veggie chowder is one of our new favorite recipes!
MEXICAN SMOTHERED CHICKEN! That recipe and over 250 more on my What’s Cookin’ site. All recipes are kid tested and family approved! http://www.jennifervandahmwhatscookinrecipes.blogspot.com

Here is our dinner menu plan for the week:

The Cheddar and Cracker Chicken we had for dinner tonight was fantastic!
Not sure how she does hers, but I put mine in a 9 x 13 pyrex dish. Melt some butter and lemon juice together and pour it over the fish. Sprinkle with whatever I find in the cabinet (basil, oregano, Mrs. Dash) and bake at 350 for 30 min. We love it.
I really wish I could lick the screen.
Ok, I lauded out loud on your comment! 😉
I am trying hard to keep it simple this week since we are recovering from illness and the holidays! So my crockpot is my friend and so is Papa John!
Haha! I love Papa Johns.. we so had it this weekend because momma was tired! 🙂
The cheesy veggie chowder is on my list to make soon! Here’s my menu: http://jandjnewleaf.blogspot.com/2011/11/whats-for-eats-this-week_27.html

I have to admit that I’m a little green over the fact that your family has such an accepting palate. My whole family tends to shy away from new things or anything with spices. And my kids like the opposite of everything from one another. Literally. The only thing they overlap on is some of the things they mutually dislike!!
I hear ya! It’s such a bummer to cook food you know your kids won’t like, but I keep at it, hoping that someday they will change their minds!
Thanks for the encouragement, Amy! My kids are 12 and 7 and a little set in their ways, but I keep trying!!
Me, too! I keep thinking it takes a lot of different tasting opportunities to decide if you really like something or not, right? 🙂 One of these days they will like what I cook!!
Wow! Your menu looks delish! I should come to your house 🙂 We just got back from traveling so ours is pretty simple this week: http://saveliveeatlove.com/2011/11/eat-this-weeks-menu-1127/
I love cinnamon rolls! 🙂

(all gluten free!)
We’re also having ground beef stroganoff from my freezer this week for a quick meal. It’s one of my kids’ favorite meals.

I noticed you’re making my black beans for the freezer this week. I hope you enjoy them! We’ve found them to be so versatile and delicious!
Here is our plan for this week, simple and easy!
http://lindyandjeanne.blogspot.com/2011/11/weekly-menu-111311.html
We’re eating similar food this week! I also cooked up a mess of black beans and also kidney beans today for the freezer and taco soup – my go-to recipe for busy (or lazy) nights. And quiche is also on our menu! I plan to make bags of it for quick freezer meals, too.
Here’s the rest of our menu:

For the first time in 10 weeks, I’m actually able to make a menu! I’m taking it slow, because I’m still not feeling 100% (and probably won’t for a while), but at least I can handle the sight of food again 🙂

Off to check out the cheesy vegetable chowder…sounds yummy!
The Cheesy Vegetable Chowder IS yummy! I made it last week. Soooo delicious. I can’t wait to make it again this week.
Wow! There are so many comments over there and the picture is beautiful…sure wish I could take pictures like that. On next weeks’ menu plan.
Thanks for posting Crystal.
Those cinnamon rolls look so good!!
Here is our plan for the week:
http://www.momsplans.com/2011/11/menu-planning-november-27-2011/
We have several root vegetables to use up.
The cinnamon rolls are really good! I’ve made them several times and also shared the recipe!
I made the cinnamon rolls this morning. So good! I was able to take them straight from the fridge and put them in the oven, and they rose perfectly. These are replacing my old recipe!
Yay! I’m so glad you enjoyed them!
