I didn’t go to the store this week except to stock up on a few items we needed for Freezer Cooking Day:
We spent $64.61 out of pocket, and here’s what we filled our freezer with:
The list of recipes and food we made we made can be found here.

thanks for the linky!
Saw you spent more than you wanted on tortillas and just wanted to mention that we go through a TON of tortillas around here and although I can sometimes get them with a coupon, the cheapest way we’ve found is the “Pinata” brand in the refrigerated section at Walmart. They taste great and they’re only $.88 for pack of 12!
Scored a great birthday gift at Menards this week! Thanks for all of your work.
i have a freezer cooking question. how long can these dishes stay frozen before the taste is compromised? and do you thaw them before re-heating? do you re-heat them in the oven at the original cooking temperature? okay, i guess that was more than one question:)
I would love the happy baby give away stuff, but have always had trouble entering the giveaways. Please let this get to the right place.
I am having a hard time entering drawings. I really hope this goes through for the happy baby give away. 🙂
I am REALLY wanting to try freezer cooking! The problem is, my husband is slightly picky about his food…he’d sooner eat frozen pizza than frozen casseroles or burritos. I like to cook, but I don’t nearly as often as I should because of the cleanup! I will have to watch all you bloggers and see how many hubby-approved freezer dishes I can come up with!
As you can see from my post, I stocked up on soup this week! I had a 56% savings at Harris Teeter and a terrific savings at a Children’s Name brand Consignment Sale!
As always, thanks for the chance to link.
Looks like your freezer cooking day went super! Isn’t it nice to have dinner done so you don’t have to waste mental energy on “What to make?!”. 😉
Best to you!
Hey Crystal! Just wanted to thank you. For a year now, I’ve been following you and have always wondered how you could even afford to skip shopping on some weeks. Well, I think I’m starting to get it now. Hello, I don’t just need to run out everytime there’s a sale! It’s nice to slow down and just eat from the pantry, do some freezer cooking, menu planning. You have modeled homekeeping with regards to grocery shopping very well! Thanks!
I stocked up on cereal at Cub Foods. It was a great deal this week.
Thanks for the weekly Linky! Your site is so helpful!
