Great shopping trip! I’ve been following your blog for a little while, I’m wondering if you only post the trips you found good deals here, or do you have many items in stock already? I’m asking this because I haven’t seen any big shopping trips including items like fresh veggies, eggs, or household items for the family. Thanks for sharing!

My husband went to Aldi for lots of fruit, veggies and dairy this week (as I mentioned in the post), but I didn’t get a picture of it. As you continue to read here, you’ll see that I usually stockpile meat, wheat and household supplies in large quantities when I can get a great deal. So I don’t buy some of those things very often.
Casey says
Sorry I missed the part about your hubby’s trip 😉 I see now. Sure I’ll keep following your blog everyday!

I found a great deal at Lowes Foods. They have just started Double Couponing up to .99 like Harris Teeter. I got Land of Lakes meat on sale this week 2/5.00 plus each one had .55 coupon. That means I got each one which are normally priced 3.69 for 1.40 each. You better believe we stocked up as my husband takes sandwiches all week long.

Great shopping trip! I miss my Dillons affiliate store (Kroger). We moved to an area that has no stores that offer double coupons and I’ve had to increase the budget. 🙁

I went to Dillon’s late at night and I’m going to have to go back, because they were out of half of what I wanted! 🙁 http://mylittlebitoflife.com/?p=1235

We got the free coupon for Uncle Ben’s rice too. I was glad to be able to try a different flavor then the one we have tried around here before.

Was the 50/50 marked down because it is about to expire? Do you freeze it?
Crystal says
It’s expiring in a few days. My husband loves to use it on his cereal instead of milk so I bought it to surprise him. 🙂

Does anyone know if you can use Almond Milk for ice cream? We just bought an ice cream maker, (despite my problems eating dairy), and I was hoping there were non-dairy substitutes that set up the same way. Thanks!

I stopped at a school inventory sale for a Christian school that is closing. It used to run our daycare until a few years ago when they split off from the church that housed both the school and childcare. The church kept the childcare and the school left. Due to the bad economy, the school couldn’t keep up and it shut down and is selling everything.
I picked up two large boxes of art supplies, a box of math activity kits, some science supplies and some everyday use items, costumes, along with a musical instrument. I ran out of cash so had to stop there! I also stopped at a rummage sale and spent $5 on clothing for my son. Very cute jeans, jammies and tops.
I’m hoping they hold the school sale again next weekend because they were still bringing out boxes full of items. They had thousands of books, cases of art supplies, playground equipment, toys, games, puzzles, desks, chairs, furniture, science equipment and on and on and on. It was amazing.

Being a 1st grade teacher this would be a dream come true. Too bad I haven’t been able to find any sales or even garage sales like that around where I live (Florida).
Sounds like you really lucked out!

where did you get the 1.25 Silk coupon? They have a 75 cent on on their website….but didn’t see the 1.25.
Michelle says
My guys don’t like the Almond Milk. However they never even recognize it in a Smoothie:)
Michelle says
My guys aren’t super fond of the Almond Milk. I have used it many times in Smoothies though with no complaints:)!
Kristine says
It is very good in smoothies. 🙂
Christy says
I don’t like the Almond milk either, plain or in cereal, but I don’t notice a difference when I bake with it!
Anna J says
My kids LOVE the dark chocolate almond – they would drink the whole thing in a day if I let them – gotta watch the sugar though. I was able to pick up two 2 of the Silk Coconut for .99 each last week (w/o coupons! – they were about to expire)- tried freezing one in cubes for making orange julius so we’ll see how that goes.
R says
Stick some of those bananas in the freezer then blend them with the chocolate Silk for a chocolate/banana smoothie at least as yummy as Starbucks!
Crystal says
Great idea! Thank you for helping me come up with a menu item for next week!
Melanie says
Wow, I’m super jealous about the almond milk. I bought the same type today for $4+.
Crystal says
I know, wasn’t that an amazing price? I only wish I’d had a stack of coupons!
