And now for Super Savings Saturday… I have nothing to report this week since I stayed home all week. My husband was kind enough to make a quick trip to Aldi for us and that was it. I’ve not so much as even touched my coupon box and am just trying to get our home back into our and some semblance of a routine back into place.
However, next week, I hope to hit some deals hot and heavy seeing as we’re running low on a few things. I also hope to bring the $40 weekly menu feature back to life, too. So stay tuned!

How’d you do this week? Found on SLICK DEALS.NET
This is a nice deal and an easy way to use the $5 off $20 coupon.
1. Print out $5 off $20 coupon
2. On Appliances aisle look for:
a) Steam Cleaner (marked $19.99 but will scan $12.99)this has a $10 rebate on it (discussed in another thread as well. This is the YMMV part as stock is limited to whats on hand. May not be left at all stores.
(dead on line, ringing up $12.99 in stores however (was $19.99)
b) Choose any small appliance (can opener, 5 cup coffee maker, waffle iron, etc) Priced $9.99 that has the $4 rebate offer (see AUGUST book for details)
3) Math as follows:
Steam Cleaner + Small Appliance
$22.98 plus tax
less $5 off $20
_______________
$17.98 plus tax
$10 rebate steamer
$4 Rebate
$1.40 10% gift card bonus on $14 in rebates
__________________________________________________
$2.60 plus tax NET COST w/ all offers
************************************************** *******************************
$9.99 less $4 easy saver rebate (rebate limit is 3 small appliances!! up to $12)

I will be featured on an NBC4-Columbus story about frugal living soon. The news anchor, camera man and an intern came to my house on Thursday to look at what I’ve dumpster dived, curb shopped, and gotten at CVS. I specifically mentioned Money Saving Mom as THE place to go for CVS deal info!

CVS Money Maker!!
I don’t have a blog, so I’ll post my deal find here. If you received a free sample of Kotex, there should be a web address with it: http://www.kotex.com/surveySC. After I completed the survey, my computer allowed me to print 2.
I’m in GA, so we recently switched to a Friday to Thursday circular. In this week’s circular, starting today, (no: I just looked at my clock…make that yesterday!) Aug. 22, a 16 count Kotex pantiliner box is $1.49 with $1.49 in ECB’s returned to you… free after ECB’s. However, if you have the $1.00 coupon, you will make a dollar. 🙂
Thank you so much, Crystal, for all you share with us!

Hi Crystal,
I’m so glad I’ve come across your blog! I love the deals, but I’m also more impressed with you as a person. I read that you were home schooled, before I had read that, I thought wow, the way this lady writes & runs this blog, she must have been really educated! Pat your parents on the back. They did well. We home school (not all 7 yet thankfully!) as well and you gave me a glimpse into my daughter’s future possibilities.
Thank you.
You don’t have to publish this if you don’t want to, just wanted to give ya some kudos;)

Overall I had a pretty good week, though I got confused about the ad I received in the mail which was not the ad that my store was using for this week (mix up with the Dallas market trial ad). So I think I could have done better if I had gotten the right ad! Still, I’ll take $0 oop any day.

I got some cool buys at CVS this week…even though there wasn’t tons of freebies but I stocked up on stuff for the Samaritan’s Purse shoeboxes, yahoo!

I accidentally linked my main site instead of the actual post (I copied and pasted it after accidentally pressing back). Is it okay if I just link to the post on the main page so readers can go straight to it? I apologize.

Looks like there are a few good things at CVS this week (I didn’t get much there last week). They have zipfizz (vit.b12 drink) free after ecbs. And Kotex 1.49 pantyliners free after ecbs. Also a good deal on Playtex tampons (18 ct) $4.99 with 3 ecbs back Coupon loop had a mc) and cvs tampons (40 ct) $4.99 with 2 ecbs. One other thing worth noticing was the Colgate toothbrushes/toothpaste BIGIF. I happened to have crt’s for both, but no mc. I don’t need any make-up, but Revlon is BIGIF and the $2 off mc is still good. Nabisco crackers are BIGIF so if you have coupons for two it could be a good deal. Ok, one last comment-softsoap hand-soap is .99 and it says there will be coupons in Sun. paper.

Hi Crystal. I have been following both of your blogs for a couple months now. I really enjoy them. Thanks for sharing. Today was my 1st trip to CVS with a purpose/plan to pick up a few items we needed using the shopping strategies you employ. And I am soooo proud of myself. I got Crest toothpaste, Sunsilk shampoo, and Sunsilk conditioner for $2. (Crest $1.99-$1 ECB…Sunsilk B1G1 + $2 coupon = $3 out of pocket w/$1 ECB for next transaction 🙂 I know you (and many of your readers) have been at this for a while…I am just learning…but I can see how careful planning will significantly help our household budget. I can’t thank you enough for inspiring me on a daily basis…and teaching me how to be more frugal.
