Welcome to my weekly Slow Day post, inspired by Monica from The Homespun Heart. My Word for 2018 is Slow and, in the spirit of that word, I’m taking one day each week (Wednesday) off — I’ll be unplugged and offline and plan to move at a slower pace, take time to do things that refresh me, and just really focus on being present and savoring the moment.
Each Saturday, I’ll be sharing a photographic peek into my Slow Day — and I’ll let the pictures almost 100% speak for themselves, instead of giving many explanations. Enjoy a little peek into our lives!

My morning started on the treadmill — like usual!

These girls… always being crazy together! They have so many inside jokes and I just love it!

After Discipleship Group, I worked on moving projects and listened to this episode of the The Chalene Show.

Then, I went and picked Silas up from school and we went on a little Starbucks date.

Next, I picked the girls up and we headed over to the new house to unload and unpack some things.

And then Kaitlynn and I made charcoal facial masks while we watched the Olympics!
Have to ask how you liked the charcoal facial masks? I have two daughters around your daughter’s ages. Was thinking of buying some charcoal facial scrub for my oldest (sometimes she will get some annoying blackheads on her nose). Have used the Biore strips but they didn’t really help. If the charcoal worked well maybe you could do a DIY post about it (would love that). Thanks!!!
Have you tried Witch Hazel with Rose for her? I saw it on a blog and got some for my daughter. It helps so much with acne!
Have not tried Witch Hazel with Rose but will look into that also – thanks Jennifer!
I would love to hear more about the masks too! It looks like a fun activity that’s also pampering 🙂
It was just Charcoal and glue. She found the recipe online. And it worked really well!
Thank you!
Your new living room is beautiful! The colors look so peaceful.
Thank you!
Your daughter looks so cute in her school uniform. I wore one years ago to private school. I have great memories of those years.
Thanks so much! She loves the uniform!
The house definitely has a great look!
Thank you so much!
Yes, the new house does look lovely!
Thanks so much!
Three kids and white couches!! Clearly, they are past the toddler stage. 🙂 Love the furniture.
It’s our formal living room — the bonus room/basement has the furniture that the kids can hang out on! 🙂
Why are you still hanging on to the box that says “Baby and Maternity”? Is this some sort of announcement!!!??? LOL!
No, not an announcement — I only realized that tub still had an old label on in *after* I took the picture and got ready to post it. I almost posted something about it to say that… but I figured no one would notice it!! It’s actually memorabilia stuff that just got put in a tub with an old label on it. I took the label off after I saw it in the picture!
(It’s so funny what I don’t notice and then notice when I take a picture and get ready to post it! 😉
Agreed. It looks like a magazine picture.
Looks like a good day. 🙂 The new house is looking great!!
Thank you!
I don’t comment usually. I look forward to these posts about your Slow Day and a Peek into Your Week. I love hearing about your family. Thank you for sharing with us.
Thanks so much for your encouragement!
