This was actually from last night, but I wanted to share it anyway. 🙂
Remember the free Psalty album download I posted earlier this week? Well, we downloaded it and listened to it during last night’s Laundry Party. It was so fun to introduce my kids to songs from when I was a little girl.
Also? Laundry parties are one of my secret house-cleaning tips. We have so much fun and get so much done when we all work together. And when Mom’s excited about it, the attitude is usually contagious! 🙂
Want to see a video clip of my girls jammin’ and foldin’? Here you go. Notice their outfits? Cracks me up how two girls in the same family can be so, so different from each other! 🙂
Oh and thanks for your Swagbucks tips yesterday. I was excited that we earned 55 Swagbucks today — with very little extra time or effort. I scored 11 Swagbucks on my first search try and that helped bump up our total!
How did YOU save today? Did you have any frugal fun at your house?
This is so sweet my sisters and I grew up listening to Psalty and I have introduced him to my girls. I love sharing it with them creating new memories with them.
I scored some 90% off school supplies at CVS for my
Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes! Lots of cool
things for 9¢ each — highlighters, post-it pads, colored
rubberbands, pencil sharpeners, etc. Usually by the time
they’re that cheap, there is just a picked-over mess. But
there was so much to choose from. And I left plenty for
other people, so they could enjoy the great deal, too!
My comment didn’t show :/ And I loved your idea!
Looks like it got stuck in spam. I just rescued it out. 🙂
Thanks for saving it…you’re so on it! 😉
That is seriously adorable!! I seriously love this new series, it’s the main reason I check your site everyday. Thanks for the ideas.
My eldest had to get braces today and we wanted to make the day special for him, but without breaking our no spend challenge. However, I realized that for two years he wasn’t going to be able to have hard taco shells or chips (his favorites), so I decided to bend a little. I ended up spending two dollars on a Dorito taco and a crispy taco for him for lunch (just him, the other kids were fine with it) right before his appointment. He was thrilled! I snapped a picture, but I knew that even without the picture, it was a moment he would remember for years. $2 was worth taking away some of his anxiety. 🙂
After his braces were put on, we rented God’s Not Dead from the library and made smoothies to help soothe his gums. And I let go of any guilt and gave myself some grace for a moment when my son really needed it.
I love this! Way to go, mom!!
I saved money today by combining target and manufacturers coupons to get 4 packs of Huggies wipes for 97 cents each. I also stocked up on herbal tea at Target where Celestial Seasoning tea ended up being 1.83 (I think) per box.
We’re now set for the next couple of months with both wipes (only use them in the diaper bag) and tea. Thanks Crystal and all the other money saving blogs for letting me know about the great deals 🙂
Yay for great deals!
We have this too! Ours is called the “family folding party”!
So fun! I must have missed that post (about the free download). My siblings and I LOVED Psalty as kids! 🙂
Also, your girls’ style preferences remind me of my sisters and I. I’m the jeans and t-shirt girl. If I want a nice dress or jewelry, I go raid their closets haha!
I have a feeling I’m going to be looking to Kaitlynn for hair and makeup and clothing help in just a few years. She’s already giving me quite a few suggestions. 🙂
Aww, that’s so cool! I can’t WAIT until my kids are old enough to interact like that!
There are 30 easy swagbucks available under the ‘Discover’ tab. Click on ‘Read’ and then click on each book cover and the read the except tab on each one. You will get 5 swagbucks for each one. You can usually get rewarded under this tab twice a month just for clicking through.
My savings was staying home all day since my van was in the shop. I am not sure that counts since there was a repair bill. But, it is better to repair and maintain our vehicles than replace them. Both of our vehicles are old but paid for.
Thanks for the tip on getting rewarded twice a month on the Discover tab. I tried it out yesterday and haven’t gotten rewarded yet, but I’m going to try again and see if maybe I did it wrong.
Did you click on “read exerpt” after clicking on the book? Mine just credited for 5 out of the 6 books (the last one didn’t have the “read exerpt.”
Also, if you click on “Encrave” under the “Discover” tab, I like to play the “Money” videos while I check emails. A picture of a squirrel usually pops up around 4 pm CST or later under the Encraves. Click on the “x” at the top of the video list to put it in “Discover” mode. The videos will auto run through in 13-15 minutes & award you 4 sb each time through. You do have to keep your cursor on the page for these, so I play them while I’m cooking, cleaning, etc.
You all are so amazing! I’m learning so many great tips from you! Thank you for the Encrave tips!
I’m trying the books again right now… hopefully they work this time!
It WORKED! Yay! Just added 30 points to my account (it credited for all 6 books!)!
YAY!
One of them said something else crazy like ‘discover the book’ but I don’t remember the exact wording.
Thanks for the “Read” tip!!
Do you have to have an instagram account to see the video? I couldn’t see it.
I think it’s great when kids are involved and a task is made fun. My kids love folding the laundry! And it’s a huge help to me. I think your right when it comes to our attitude. If we are cheery about it then they will be too and it’s not such a drudgery.
