That looks unbelievable! So chic, I love it!
When I was a teen I had a bookcase made out of on old timey radio. You know the one’s everyone listened to in the 40’s. When I left home (under not so good conditions) my paren’t threw it on the burn heap. I lovedf that thing. Wish I could find another one. I love how the TV one turned out. Great job!
Beautiful job! and very clever! I still love the country blue even though it’s not so “in” any more.
Oh WOW!! Now I am so motivated! Although I have to admit, I see myself investing in a ton of tools and paint and then getting frustrated on Day 2. LOL
Years ago when our TV that looked very similar to that died on us I did somewhat the same thing. My husband took the “guts” out and tossed, then I lined the interior with paneling we had taken off a wall. I put a shelf half-way up the walls and then bought a pair of shutters that I added as the doors to the cabinet so we could shut in the mess. My son used it many years for games and puzzles. Now it’s in our garage as a storage unit with no shelf as my husband took it and used it for another project! I left the unit in it’s original maple finish but I like the idea of painting it like you did.
Normally I am not so stunned at roadkill saves but this one, WOW, awesome job. I went back, looked at the original then to the to found use picture and I’m with you! Totally coveting this baby:)
I have heard various things about tube tvs….how difficult was it to get the television out of the console?
This re-done piece of furniture is really beautiful! I seriously doubt most seeing it would guess what it was before it got a make over. I love the color…
Beautiful….this is the exact same TV that my parents had when I was growing up. Boy, wish they hadn’t thrown it out 3 years ago.
Love it!!
Love it!!! I need to show this to my hubby because I had considered converting an old chest of drawers -the drawers are broken (that used to be in one of our boys’ rooms until he got a refurbished dresser that his grandparents rescued) into a bookcase! Hubby didn’t think that was possible, but now I can show him it is possible! Awesome!!!!
This is a wonderful idea! Who would of thought.
SO COOL! I might copy that color when I paint the dining room hutch I got for $50 at a resale shop.
amazing! I did a double-take!
Wow! and her hard wood floors are so nice too! I have carpet and hate it.
Wow! I only wish I could be that creative. We’ve had an old console tv in our basement forever! Do I dare try this?
What a great idea! It looks cool!
Wow, that looks so good!
I would love to know how the shelf was put in and if it was sanded all down before being painted. I see all sorts of great things on the roadside but never picked them up. Because I dont know what to do with it once its home. For that matter how to do it Any suggestions ??
Wow, that turned out SO cute! Love the paint color!!
Wow!! That’s soo pretty, now I want to drive around and look for an old tv laying around by the trash!
Me, too! If only I was creative, though!
I just rescued a dining chair that was on the side of the road. It was in such poor shape. I never take pictures of the “before”. I showed my husband the picture of the rescued tv cabinet to show him I wasn’t the only person picking things up curbside. I sanded, restained the chair and then I am planning to recover the cushion. So far it is turning out nice.
Oh, love it!! Unfortunately we just put a TV like that to the curb last Fall…wish I would have seen this before!! Never would have thought of doing that at all!
Wow wish I had known about this when we left ours at the curb almost a year ago
Some people have such great vision – amazing.
I so agree!
What a pretty transformation!! I have two “roadkills” waiting for me to transform.
Wow thats awesome.. I want one now!!!
ohhhh I like that kind of roadkill!! lol
WOW!! I would of never thought to do that!! I love it!!
I LOVE it!!!!!!!!!! What a beautiful color, too!
Wooooooooooooo Hoooooooooooooo!!!!! That came out great!!!!!!!!
That motivates me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow! You did an awesome job with that! Do you ever watch the Nate Berkus show? You need to go to his website and submit your photos! He will love this piece and how you” saved ” it! You might make T.V. with it!
Your skills are amazing! This project turned out beautifully.
Are you going to start a new series “Roadkill Rescue”??? Sounds like a FABULOUS idea!!! I love this sort of thing! LOL I can’t wait to read more! 🙂
Well, if anyone wants to submit their “Trash to Treasure” photos, I’ve love to consider featuring them and drooling over them myself!
Wow! That IS gorgeous & creative! We’re in desperate need of a tv console….maybe I should start asking around or searching thrift shops for an old tv console like this!
Wow, I too am trying not to covet her creativity!
I love it that is awesome way to re-invent the cabinets use.
My father-in-law FINALLY retired his old wooden TV console for a new flat screen. He is quite attached to it still. I should tell him about this!
AWESOME! We have an old console TV in our family room that we haven’t removed since we recived the Christmas flat screen from my Mom and Step Dad. This is a great idea! Though ours isn’t as decorative and it swivels. Gotta think about how best to use it…
i too, covet these skills! that is amazing!
wow that came out great… very pretty
