Jessica emailed in the following tip:
My husband and I signed up for the Shop Your Way Rewards Program last year and it has been our biggest contributor to purchasing free or close-to-free gifts for birthdays, holidays, Christmas, etc.
Shop Your Way Rewards is the rewards program for Sears, Kmart and Lands End. Without ever spending a cent at any of these store, we have received regular emails of free points — anywhere from $3 to $7, with no minimum purchase.
These points can then be redeemed in-store or online. If you are near a Sears or Kmart, you can purchase an item using points and elect for free store pickup. You can also take advantage of Shop Your Way MAX which gives you 3 months of free shipping.
Additionally, through May 26th, there is an online matching game giving you the opportunity to earn up to 1000 points a day, or 5000 points total. That is $1-$5 in free points! -Jessica

Jessica, Where can I find the online matching game to earn points? I can’t find anything about it. Thanks.

I love this reward program! I’ve gotten clothes, groceries, even home decor for next to nothing thanks to the surprise points. Another thing worth checking out: fitstudio.com. You can earn Shop Your Way Rewards points for setting exercise goals and tracking your workouts. It usually gives me an extra $2 in to add to the points they load to my card. Nothing huge, but it helps!

I love it- I don’t buy a lot but I will look at those stores first for what we need. Those points are nice but the free surprise points have paid for many small things around our house like kitchen gadgets, towels and fabric storage bins that we really don’t have the money to buy/replace right now. My husband is happy enough to go pick up items on his way from from work and he is seeing a benefit since now the girls can organize their things all by themselves and he is no longer using threadbare towels.

I LOVE Shop Your Way Rewards. I get so many surprise points offers through them that I’ve been able to get all of our kid’s footwear for free or nearly so the last year plus numerous pieces of clothing too. It’s been an incredibly easy way to stretch our budget!

Also, if you live near a Sears Outlet that carries clothing (unfortunately, I think there are only about 50 of these nationwide), they have periodic “Free Apparel Days.” You can literally walk in and get any piece of clothing (minus outerwear) for free with no strings attached. They’re often on Tuesdays, but you just have to like the Facebook page to stay informed. 🙂
