In celebration of the Summer Olympics beginning today, we did some fun activities today:
We used chocolate-covered sunflower seeds I got at the health food store to make Olympic Rings.
Silas had a little bit of trouble lining up the seeds with the lines, so I ended up just having him match the colors and put them in the circles.
The kids were looking at Pinterest with me the other day and saw a picture for Olympic Rings Fruit Pizza and begged if we could make it.
While our Olympic Rings Fruit Pizza didn’t look quite as great as the original recipe, the kids had so much fun making it and were so excited to show Jesse when he got home from work!
Looks like the chocolate covered sunflower seeds worked perfectly and the fruit pizza looks really tasty! YUM!
I could go for some of that right now! I wanted to let you know that I put a link to this post in an article on Olympics activities: http://www.examiner.com/article/get-the-olympic-spirit-with-fun-activities-for-kids.
They will remember this forever! What a doting mother you are : )
That fruit pizza is such a cute idea! Looks yummy too
The fruit pizza is a fun idea!
It looks great!
The pizza looks great. Who knew that you could buy colored chocolate covered sunflower seeds. I know one family made foods from around the world (mini tacos, egg rolls, etc.) for opening ceremonies last night. I think I’m going to try that for the closing ceremonies.
Cute! Those chocolate covered seeds look amazing!
I LOVE these ideas! I am going to try the one with seeds for my kids with beads they love using glue.
Love that idea! I think I might steal it, too… I think the Dollar Store has beads.
Looks fun and yummy!
We are doing our own Olympics and made rings and a cake to kick off opening ceremonies. Due to some overtired kiddos we didn’t get our torches done but will finish those tomorrow!
