Are you ready for another Freezer Cooking Day? Since I only did a smaller Freezer Cooking Day last time around, our freezer is especially empty right now. So I’m very excited to get it filled up again!
Here’s the Master List of recipes I plan to make:
–Cheeseburger Meatloaf (recipe from Busy Moms Weeknight Favorites
cookbook)
–Chicken and Red Bean Burritos (recipe from The $5 Dinner Mom Cookbook
)
–Lemon Chicken (recipe from The $5 Dinner Mom Cookbook
)
–White Bean and Chicken Chili (recipe from Eat Well, Save Big Cookbook)
–Taco Meat
–Make Ahead Butterhorns
I found some extra recipe inspiration from a few new cookbooks I’ve received in the mail recently. But not all the recipes are completely new to us, in fact, the Make-Ahead Butterhorns are one of our family’s favorite rolls ever. The recipe is a little time-consuming, but SO worth it. I’ll share it on Monday along with pictures and details on how our cooking day goes. And don’t forget to come back on Tuesday to link-up your post(s) about your cooking accomplishments.
If you’re new to Freezer Cooking, be sure to check out my post on How to Plan a Freezer Cooking Day and FishMama’s post on Making Freezer Cooking Work for You.
Are you participating in March Freezer Cooking Days? If so, post about your cooking plan on your blog and then come back here and leave your direct link below so we can all be inspired! Please note: links which do not link directly to your freezer cooking post or which do not contain your freezer cooking plan will be deleted.
Hubby and I just finished off the last of our Brown Bag Burritos…yum!
FishMama’s Lasagna or (Ann Hodgeman’s) looks so good! I make my own, from scratch, but I am going to have to try to incorporate her cream cheese and wine into mine and see what happens. Stay tuned for my family’s reviews! Lasagna was on our menu this upcoming week as well!
I accidentally put this in my link here instead of under Super Savings Saturday – Sorry!
I didn’t blog about this (not this time) but we had a ground beef cooking session planned for this morning. Me, my aunt, and a friend used their church’s BIG kitchen and cooked up a storm! I came home with 5 meatloaf, 3 1/2 bags of meatballs, 2 bags of salisbury steak patties, 3 dozen burger patties, 4 bags of chili dog sauce (yummy!), and 2 bags of chopped onion!!! Not bad for a 4 hour investment!!!
I can’t wait to get started! But after two toddlers messed up my sleep last nite, I’m going to need a caffeine boost first!!!!! I’ve made a short list on my blog already…. Of course, I always end up adding stuff as I go along 🙂
I love freezer cooking and I love casseroles. I love to freeze spaghetti sauce. I just throw some plain tomato sauce in a crock pot to cook all day when I am lounging around or working on things online and toss in a couple of bay leaves, oregano, garlic powder, and onion powders with a little bit of olive oil, and voila, sauce for weeks!
Crystal, I grew up with butterhorns & was excited to see them on your list this month. Can I ask how you can “make them ahead”?
Thanks!
Stay tuned for the recipe and details (along with pictures) on Monday. 🙂
