As I mentioned earlier, my mom took the girls today so I could focus on cooking (I'm so blessed we live near family again!) so I only had Silas. It was so weird to be home just with him and I enjoyed the chance to get some quality one-on-one time with him.
When Silas wasn't napping, he played on the floor nearby me, or was on my hip watching my every move. I'm not quite as fast with a baby on my hip, but I've learned to manage pretty well with practice–something I've had quite a bit of over the last few years!
As you can tell from the above pictures, our little Silas is quite the doll! He's all boy and every bit Mommy's boy and we love him to pieces. And I'm sure someday, he'll learn to sleep through the night. 🙂

How sweet your little guy is!!!
Silas is adorable! My little Daniel is almost 6 months now. A great help to me has been the doorway boucer I have. Do you have one? Daniel spends an hour at a time in it doing nothing but bouncing and laughing hysterically. I have it between the kitchen and hallway so I can keep an eye on him while cooking or cleaning. Everyone I know who has one says it is a great help and the kids get LOTS of excercise.
Your little guy is soooo precious! How cute!
Silas is adorable!!! What a handsome little guy. He’ll sleep eventually : ).
He is so adorable! What a cutie pie! I am sure he is mommy’s boy, too, right? 🙂
Wow. Cooking is tired enough. I couldn’t imagine doing it with the extra weight.
He is too cute and look how big he has gotten! Seems we were just reading about his birth! Love your blog!
He is such a cutie! It looks like you got lots of stuff done for your freezer days cooking stints. Now, I need to use some of the same techniques.
On another note: I privately emailed you about a DVD giveaway for a Christian preschool show called the Slug & Ant Show. I look forward to hearing your comments & maybe give it a plug on your blog here? THanks.
What a sweet little boy! Thanks for posting stuff like this, too. I like your blog because it’s deals AND a person 🙂
Wow, what a little cutie pie you have on your hands! All the girls are going to be after him when he grows up! 😉 Thanks for sharing the pics… He is SO adorable!
Silas is adorable! Have you ever heard of the Ergo carrier? That’s how I’ve managed to get things done with babies in the kitchen, and I keep an extra one I keep in the van for shopping. My baby is 1 yr old and I still use my Ergo everywhere I go! I must sound like an advertisement, but I’m not, lol. Thanks for sharing your freezer cooking day with us:-)
Crystal, you have such a beautiful family! What a blessing!
Such a cutie pie! Those pictures make me miss having little ones 🙂
He is absolutely adorable. It really makes me miss having a baby in the house (youngest just turned 5) but we won’t be having any more.
Oh my gosh, how big he’s gotten already! And so cute!
Silas is grinning because he knows that he’s going to eat very well when he hits that ravenous-teenage-boy stage, LOL! Seriously, if you’re primarily nursing him (as I did with my son, who’s now a teen), it takes until 6 months or so for them to sleep through the night, because breast milk is digested faster than formula. It’s worth it, though!
Now off to make the tuna casserole … looks yummy!
What a sweetheart!!! He sure looks like his sisters! I am so impressed at all you were able to accomplish!!! Way to go!! 🙂
Thanks for sharing your life with us. Silas is just perfect. It is amazing to know that God entrusts us with his children. Thanks for being so uplifting and helping so many families succees.
So stinkin’ adorable!!! Can’t wait to meet our little man in a few weeks. It will be fun to see what a boy adds to a world w/ two little girls. His big sisters are very excited. ;o)
I just had to say it too…CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My little lass is 11 mo and still enjoys waking her mama up 2-4 times per night, sometimes more! I’ve gotten into the bad habit of just not going to bed until she wakes up a little after midnight! When I’d go to bed before then, I’d fall asleep only about 30-45 min before she woke me up and I’d wake up VERY angry/resentful!
I’m a night owl anyway, but it’s still not what I’d choose! Here’s hoping she does better than her brother though – he was still waking every 2 hrs (or less!) at 14 months. Then at 14.5 months, a switch flipped and he started sleeping through the night.
Wowzas!! He’s a cute little *looker* already.
That smile!!
He is so adorable! What a beautiful smile! Thanks for sharing all your cute pictures! Someone recommended the book On Becoming Babywise for help on getting my son to sleep through the night and it worked like a charm. I’ve seen it work with so many people now that I’m sold!
Oh my goodness–your little fella is sooo adorable! I think all my little ones are about the same age as yours; I have a 4yr. old girl, 3yr. old girl, and a 3mo. old boy. I have to say that I get SO MUCH inspiration from your blog! : ) Thanks for sharing!
Ahh… he’s too cute! I just did a cooking day with my newborn too. It was a lot different with a baby, since my girls usually help and he really just wanted to cuddle. Not that I mind the cuddling. He’ll out grow it oh too soon!
Oh how adorable! My son is almost 4 months and not even close to sleeping through the night. I cant wait till he’s crawling around playing on the floor. Im so anxious for the next stage, but then I soon miss the old one lol.
CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even though you say you are not superwoman, I think you are. Even Superwoman has a mom whom she might ask for babysitting help when she need to do a Super Baking Day! 🙂
You inspire us all!!!!
You do all this w/o consistent sleep??? wow!
He’s adorable!
he looks so much like you-what a cutie!!
I hear you sister! My little guy just turned six months and still is not sleeping through the night! It sure makes for a hard Freezer cooking day (on only 6 or so hours!) but it sure makes all the other days of the month with short nights much more do-able!
He is very very cute baby.
he is so cute. my son says “i rested quietly” when i pick him up from pre-school or “i did not rest quetly”
What a sweet helper. You’re one lucky momma.
He is sooo cute and growing so fast!
It’s funny that our boys, who were both born this spring/summer, actually kind of look alike too.
Alas, mine is nowhere near sleeping through the night. Fortunately I’m getting to the point where I barely wake up to nurse him, since he’s in our bed.
Thanks the best picture you’ve posted all day! And yes he will sleep.. I had to learn to “train mine up” though after he was still waking up every hr and 1/2 at the age of 8 mths. We were getting too tired. He’s 2 and a great sleeper now. I found that when I “trained” him, he took better naps too!
Thanks for sharing your day… I’m revisiting your recipes and seeing if I want to experiment with anything.
Oh, how cute!!!!!
I hear ya on the sleeping through the night! My son is 4 1/2 mos and I keep reminding myself that one day he will sleep all night! It may be when he is a teenager, but it will be one day! 🙂 Good job on all your hard work!
We have a little girl right now, but I’m hoping to have a mama’s boy soon! Silas is SUPER cute! What a great helper!
Oh my goodness – what a doll baby – so super cute! Thanks for sharing pictures.
Oh, you are so sweet. He is lovely and oh-so happy. It is good for me to know that there are other moms with a baby on a hip, cooking while functioning on very broken sleep! 😉 Thanks for your transparency. And…WOW, lady…you are amazing. You got a LOT done. You’ve inspired me to reach out for help for my older kids and have a baby-and-mama day…maybe cooking, maybe just cleaning and relaxing in the quiet. I think I’m getting a bit worn down because I have a difficult time asking for help.
What a cutie! My little one is turning one on Friday and I already miss the infant stage!
Oh my goodness the photos of your little guy totally brightened up my evening! He practically glows with joy!!!
I can not wait for my very first grandchild to arrive in June 2010!!!
What a happy helper! 🙂
haha, my 2 year old (3 in a few weeks) exclaims “i slept through the night!” in the mornings that she actually has.
he is such a doll!!! My little boy was born right about the same time. May 19th of this year. It seems unreal he is already 6 months old! He is such a happy baby, we are so blessed.
He is adorable!!!
I hope that “on your hip” meant in a sling….my kiddos LOVED their slings and they saved my back!
Oh my goodness, he is a cutie!! What a treat to be able to spend alone time with him! He looks loved to pieces…
That is one adorable helper!
He couldn’t be any cuter! What a doll!
Oh, how incredibly cute is he! 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
He is so adorable. I turned 46 yesterday and these pictures make me want to try again…not really! I can’t believe how fast he is growing!
