As I mentioned last week, I’m planning to share my weekly goals here each week. These goals are based (somewhat) on my yearly goals for 2021, with some extras thrown in depending upon the week and what other short-term goals I have.
I’ve been working on doing a Whole House Clean Out right now. This is something I usually do at the beginning of the year and it’s so great to start the year with all of the closets and cupboards and shelves decluttered and organized. Plus, I’ve found that if I do a really thorough job of it, it mostly stays pretty well for the majority of the year — and then it’s not too hard to do again the next year!
I’m always surprised at how much I find to get rid of, though! 🙂
One of the things I’ve been enjoying is an afternoon ritual of a cup of tea and some kind of treat. It slows me down and it reminds me to savor the beauty of the life right in front of me. Over the years, I’ve established a number of different rituals throughout the day — most that I do without even thinking much about them — but they serve me so well + just make life more enjoyable and orderly!
Now, on to this week’s list of goals:
This Week’s Goals
Personal Goals
1. Log 8,000 steps/day = 56,000 steps for the week.
2. Finish 3 books: Code Name: Lise, We Were the Lucky Ones, and In a Boat in the Middle of a Lake.
3. Fill out my habit tracker every day.
Home/Family Goals
4. Read 10 pages of A Boy’s War as a family. Read 5 chapters of Charlotte’s Web to Kierstyn.
5. Take down Christmas decor and go through Christmas decor bins — declutter and organize.
6. Whole House Clean Out spaces to go through/organize/declutter: Library, main floor bathroom, laundry room.
Work/Blog Goals
7. Record 7 videos and write content for the 10 Days to Be a Happier Mom Challenge.
8. Write a post on the books I plan to read in 2021.
9. Write a post on how I use my Habit Tracker.
Fun Goals
10. Go on a date with Jesse for our 18th anniversary.
11. Play Throw, Throw Burrito as a family (the kids are obsessed with this game!)
12. Take the girls on a shopping date to spend their Christmas money.
What’s on your list of goals for this week? I’d love to hear — and help keep you accountable!
What’s a habit tracker?
my kids love throw throw burrito too!
I loved We Were the Lucky Ones! It had some flaws (uneven pacing and weird details shoehorned in), but overall it was such a gripping story and all the more so because it truly happened. Make sure to look up the author after you finish the book – her website has lots pictures of her family and I found out some of the weird details were included because they were specific things that happened. I can also appreciate that the pacing was off because she stuck to what was known about people’s movements and didn’t make up filler.
Anyways, I’m looking forward to seeing what you thought of it!
Thank you so much for sharing your perspective! So far, I’m enjoying it.
Happy Anniversary!
Thank you!
Happy Anniversary! I hope you have a wonderful date night.
Thank you!
My goal is to sign the lease for my new business, and to get my business license.
Congratulations that sounds like great goals!!
Woohoo! I’m cheering for you!
I love reading about your goals!
Thank you for your encouragement!
Oooo…I would love to here your rituals that have worked for you and your life!
Me too! 🙂
I will try to write a post on that soon!
What do you use to keep track of your goals? Do you write them down somewhere? In your phone?
I just share them here and then do an update post each week at the beginning of the week here. I also add the goals to my Google calendar at the beginning of the week on different days.
I need to finish Atomic Habits this week (it’s due at the library in a week!), continue reading my Bible in a year with SRT (Day 4 and on track!), log 4000 steps/day (usually more, but we’re just getting over being sick), practice my worship songs for worship practice next week, journal for 15 minutes/day, go on 1 date with my husband, spend time individually with each child (I spent some time with the youngest today), plan a Friday night family night.
This is, again, the first time I’ve written out a weekly goals list…so thank you for the encouragement!
YAY! You can do it! I’m cheering for you!
