It’s been a long time since I’ve shown my grocery shopping trips. I stopped sharing them because I was honestly exhausted from constantly having people write in and critique what I bought and tell me what I was doing wrong or could be doing better.
So I took a break from it, but I’m ready to be back — and am hoping that it can be an inspiration to those who need the motivation for ideas for grocery shopping and menu planning! (And hoping that I’ll have freshly-thickened skin for those who want to email in and tell me what I’m doing wrong!)
We have raised our grocery budget quite a bit from what it used to be — mostly because we are in a season where we have more wiggle room, we are feeding more mouths than we used to, I want to be able to buy a lot of protein and some higher-priced items, and because this covers the majority of our breakfasts, lunches, and dinners for our family of 7 (Kathrynne lives 45 minutes away and only occasionally eats with us).

When you roast the veggies do you make enough for multiple meals? Your children help out in the kitchen! Excellent
Yes! Usually for 2-3 meals!
These meal plans along with your website has always been a blessing to me. God bless you Crystal!
Thank you for your encouragement!
I wish we had a Kroger! I keep seeing deep discounts on your blog and others from that store and it would be so helpful to have one nearby. Keep the posts coming. I really enjoy reading them.
Thank you! And I’m trying out some new stores, so stay tuned for those shopping trips!
WOW!! That’s amazing!! Your Kroger always has better markdowns!!
Thank you for all you do! You are an inspiration to the rest of us. Just keep using your beautiful soul to light the world around you! So thankful you are on the road to recovery. Continuing to pray for total healing!
Thank you!! I am having fun trying out some new stores, too, so stay tuned for that!
I’m so sorry people were so critical! I’ve always appreciated and enjoyed your “treasure hunting deals” for your family. It gave me very good ideas for my own family. We have a Kroger/Pick N Save in our area. We shop very carefully too. This diligence to provide for your family like you do shows your dedication to your family, and really to us, your readers too.
Thank you so much for your encouragement!
People, please stop criticizing Crystal’s posts and do something more productive. She puts a lot of work into this site and helping us make our family’s money stretch farther. I’m looking forward to more of these posts, so keep up the good work, Crystal and team!
Well done! I’ve never understood how freely people can make negative comments.
I am curious to know do you travel to different Kroger stores looking for discounts? If so is there a specific day you go because of when Kroger marks down?
I have two stores I drive by multiple times a week so those are usually the ones I go to. I’ve found that mid-morning is usually the best time to go for those stores as they usually mark things down in the morning.
I’’n so glad your sharing your grocery trips again! I love seeing your deals and love your creative meal plans! You are a blessing to so many!
Thank you!
I look forward to your shopping hauls
Thank you!
I have missed these posts! Thank you for sharing them again.
