Who needs some motivation and inspiration to clear out some clutter?? ME!
So guess what that means? I’m bringing you all along with me. 🙂 I’m going to be clearing out clutter and re-organizing things at our house this week and I’d love for you to join me.
Every morning this week around 8 a.m. CT, I’ll post the assignment for that day. Then, at 8 p.m. CT, I’ll post my accomplishments for the day! You can either link up your blog posts (if you’re blogging about the challenge) or just tell us in the comments what you accomplished that day.
Today’s Assignment:
1. Get dressed in something that makes you feel great.
2. Make a short to-do list for the day.
3. Tidy up your kitchen — do the dishes, straighten the fridge, and wipe the counter tops off.
4. Make your bed.
5. Choose one closet to clean out — pull everything out, discard the items you no longer need/love/use, put away the items that don’t belong in the closet, and organize the rest of the items in the closet.
I’m also going to be reading through The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up (can you believe I haven’t read it?) and blogging my thoughts as I read the book this week, too. Today, I’ll be reading pages 34-63. I’ll have a post up with my thoughts later today.
Who’s joining me? Leave a comment to let me know if you’re planning to participate!

I’m going to try to do this with you, Crystal. Your youth and insanity inspire me, even while all you do and write about wear me out just to think about… And THANKS for all you do to inspire and cheer us on. Soli Deo Gloria!

I’ve been seeing this book around too. Can’t wait to read your take on never decluttering again. That seems impossible with a house full of kids!

I will be working on my guest room closet after work today. I am living out of two closets and I need to just put everything into my own undisturbed closet in the guest room. Bye Bye Hubby!!

I cannot tell you how timely this is for me! My youngest started school last week and I’ve been at a loss with what to do with myself. There is a lot to do. I just needed the motivation to get started! I’m going to start with my bedroom, bathroom, and closet. Several months ago, I asked my husband, “If only one room in the house could be clean, what room would you choose?” His response was our master bedroom. To him, it’s a retreat. So I vowed that even on our messiest days, he would come home to a tidy bedroom. Now it’s time for a good deep clean. Gotta go grab some trash bags!

Nice to see this post, My plan was to work on the closets the month of September, so I will start on one today once I finish washing the kitchen floor. I redid my pantry closet last week and am so happy with the results, fresh coat of paint, new shelf liner, and a few stackable shelves, it has not looked this nice since we moved in 16 years ago! Even my 12 year old daughter likes to open it up and just look in. I’m short too and clean my cupboards the same way, Have a great day and prayers for your healing and rest too.

I found your site a few months ago and it’s just the inspiration I need. I’m not a mom, but your tips, advice and encouragement are great for singles too.
Thanks for this challenge. I’ve been so busy lately and have fallen behind on a few things. I love the daily assignments – the closet will be a challenge, but I’m going in:-)
Thanks for all you do!

I am definitely in need of organizing my home. I’ve been tackling different parts of my house for a few weeks. I still have a lot to go. I will def be following along.

Bought the book this afternoon and have read a good chunk of it already. Cleaned out desk drawers and tomorrow will tackle all the clothes–mine and the two kids (will let hubby do his own, or help him when he’s not at work). Our house is small, so we don’t have much, but I’m quite sure I can cut my stuff in half since I only wear about three outfits on a regular basis.

I will tackle my daughter’s closet. It is a disgrace. It has been the catch all area for everything but the kitchen sink!
