During the month of November, a group of my blogging friends are banding together to host the 30-Day Giving Challenge. This challenge will run for the month of November and you are encouraged to participate by giving in some way every day during the month of November.
The team of ten bloggers who are hosting this challenge will be sharing ideas and inspiration related to giving for the next 30 days. I know you’ll be blessed by following along.
Truly, “it is more blessed to give than to receive”!

I would love to share this project to give you an option in giving that can radically impact the poorest of the poor. We all remember the saying “Give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day, teach him to fish and you will feed him for a lifetime”. Two years ago Burma was impacted by Cyclone Nargis which resulted in over 140,000 deaths (Katrina had a little less than 2,000). The loss of life and resources has been beyond anything we can ever imagine. To add to their suffering they have been impacted a a rat plague which impacts most crops & natural resources. There is an awesome opportunity to equip a family with a teak fishing boat for 4 with a cost of $100 that is a sacrifice of $3.33 per day for 30 days. The super low cost for this boat is made possible by highly effective resource management and stewardship of local organizations. You can choose to get the whole boat as your family project or you can pitch in along with hundreds of donors. More details here: http://www.wideawake.org/fishing-boat-and-gear
I have direct involvement with this organization and can vouch for their commitment toward transparency, stewardship, efficiency and a passion for the poor. Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions .
PS: I am also doing OCC boxes!!!

I Love this website and this is exactly why I love this website! Being thankful for what we have, sharing with others, sharing how to be a good steward of God’s money, etc., etc. Thanks for all you do for us! Happy Thanksgiving!

I love this idea! Since I started seriously couponing and stockpiling, I got excited at all the things I could give away! Just yesterday I put together a bag of laundry products and toiletries for some single moms at my church. They cost me pennies, but will mean so much to them! I am also starting to fill my shoeboxes for OCC. Most of which are from goodies I have gotten on clearance. It truely is better to give than receive!
