Check your ALDI store to see if they are carrying some new healthier items. Annette emailed in and said:
I was at Aldi’s in MN and am excited to report I saw a lot of new, healthier items. And they were not special buys!
They had natural honey and Agave. In the produce section, they had Baby Kale tubs and Arugula for $2.49.
Also, they had fresh herbs like mint, basil, thyme, rosemary, and dill for $1.49 And they had a lot of specialty cheeses for the holiday. I also saw a natural granola and packs of applesauce similar to gogo applesauce.
Hope this will benefit you and your readers. -Annette
Have any of the rest of you found some of the same items at your ALDI store?

I found the above mentioned items at my Aldi in Oswego, IL.
I stocked up on the specialty cheeses for parties. They are such an easy appetizer with crackers!

I saw the same thing this week! And, stocking up on the fresh herbs was FABULOUS! There is organic dry pasta at our Aldi. I love to see the options expand.

There are 3 Aldi stores within 20 min. Drive time to each other and they all have the healthier food options

They are also carrying true Gluten Free items now too. We love the chicken nuggets, unfortunetly our aldis in Leavenworth, Ks will only carry them on a special buy basis right now. Which stinks. We have emailed and called the company several times to ask (and literally beg) them to carry them all the time. Anytime they have those or the gluten free briwnie mix we buy all we can afford which is usually 20+ of each..lol.. Love Aldis, I have shopped there foe 23 years!!

They definitely are- they’ve got unsweetened applesauce, natural peanut butter and jam, and Kefir 😀

Our store is also carrying healthier items and has been for a while. In fact, I wrote a post about this back in March when I was so excited to see them carrying organic produce!!! 🙂

Yes out Aldi is carrying lots of healthier options. We have nitrate free bacon and lunch meat, organic apples, bananas, kale, and mixed greens. Organic frozen blueberries, and organic strawberry and coconut frozen treats. Organic pasta, and sauce. Blue corn chips made from organic corn, and organic salsa. I contacted Aldi’s office to tell them I love these healthier products and they said they will be extending them in the new year!!! YEAH!

Ooo! Thanks for the info! Does anyone know if the 21st & Woodlawn Aldi is carrying any of these – especially the greens and herbs? Thanks!

I have found quite a few “all natural” and organic products at our Aldi, and most of them have been there for a few months now, so more than likely they are carrying them year-round. They carry a brand (or maybe it’s their own brand) called “Simply Nature” (I think that’s it- I don’t have it in front of me) but the products with that label are either “all-natural” (whatever that means) or organic. For example, I have found spaghetti sauce, certain kinds of chips, juices, raw cheese, cereals, and other boxed and jar foods. They are also carrying organic bananas on a regular basis, as well as organic apples (sometimes- not always). I’m sure there’s a lot more that I’m missing. Not sure how wide-spread this is, but this has been a wonderful addition to Aldi’s already great, relatively low-priced line-up. Also- most of these products are not located in the store with their non-organic/non-“natural” counterparts. At least at ours here in Georgia, they are usually located in a separate part of the store. Not sure why they do that . . . maybe they are separating them out until they decide to carry them as regular inventory.

Many supermarkets have a natural & organic food section for specialty brands/items.

I saw the gourmet cheeses at our store in Louisville, KY!

My sister-in-law shops at Aldi in MN, and she reports that there are lots of new Simply Nature products in her store. However, I am in the Flint, MI area where only a couple of these products have been in our store so far (and they ended up in the clearance bin). I’m hoping to see more coming – I guess time will tell.

Having recently moved to north central Montana (-9 here this morning, brrr) I miss ALDI so very much. I emailed the company. I asked then to come here.
If you have an ALDI, consider yourself blessed. They don’t even know what a good price for tortillas is out here. 🙂
Have a blessed day everyone.

Yes. I’ve seen and purchased the applesauce/banana pouches. My daughter loves them. I believe they were $1.99 in St Louis. We also have a good cheese selection. And we also bought penne noodles that have a serving of veggies in them. The kids loved it and had no idea 🙂

I’m in the STL area too 🙂 Love Aldi’s!
