I would like to become a member to purchase gifts for my grandchildren at REI, as they are into hiking and camping activities, and they are very impressed with your brand-name merchandise. (Gen Z or whatever) However, I find $30 fee excessive just to purchase it. Again, I am a grandmother & great-grandmother on a limited income who would like to purchase good quality gifts that the kids would like and appreciate. A gift would probably be my best answer, but they are never on sale and probably my range wouldn’t buy much.
If it helps at all you could purchase the membership as a gift for your grandchild. Then future purchases put under their account. It is just a one time fee and does give you access to their great used gear at much better prices as well as giving you an excellent return in divedends at the end of the year on any full price merchandise you purchase. -Jordan, MSM Team
