Well, so much for our Chick-Fil-A pictures! Our van ended up not getting fixed like it was supposed to, so we are car-less again today. Oh well, I’m sure you all weren’t that anxious to see me all dressed up like a cow anyway! 🙂
While I’m disappointed we don’t get to have a fun and memorable outing with the FishFamily, I’m counting my blessings that at least we have electricity and air-conditioning today. Yesterday, the electricity went out on our whole block for a few hours. So we had no electricity, no A/C, no internet, no car… we sure got the house nice and clean, though!
Life has been interesting around here recently. You just never know what the next day will bring–or even the next hour!
Instead of Chick-Fil-A, the girls and I are walking to the library. It’s a nice free and fun place to hang out for a few hours and they love it!
Don’t forget to check out Frugal Friday over on my other blog. I’m sharing about foraging for mulberries and there are a host of other great tips left, too.
I am sorry that you did not get to enjoy a free meal. I am so thankful for you and your website, I am a better shopper, steward of our money, mom and wife because of it. I have been a fool with our money for too long and appreciate your tips sooooooo much!!!
God bless you
We are down a van right now, too. But we were able to walk to 7-11 and my children got their first taste (free at that!) of Slurpee. I think they prefer our healthy smoothies I make, but it was a fun treat nonetheless!

No one deserves free Chick-Fil-A more than you, Crystal! I really admire the stance that you and your family have taken. Keep your chin up and thank you for all that you do! You have helped so many of us and I want you to know how much you are appreciated!

Oh, bummer.. I was looking so forward to see what you all would come up with! I will pray for your van problems to soon be resolved… been there, done that, and bought the t-shirt. I know it is no fun 🙁
so not fair!!! We do not have a Chick-Fil-A here in New England. Well I am glad you all scored some free food!! You all look so cute. Sorry Crystal you couldn’t go, sounds like you had a fun day anyway!
I appreciate your comments lately on both blogs about being thankful and joyful despite the circumstances (and I can tell myself, at least we aren’t having car troubles like poor Crystal’s family!).
Sorry you’re having such a time, Crystal. It’s times like this that it’s hard to agree with Paul to be content no matter what your situation. Personally, I have to remind myself that “contentment is a choice, not a feeling.” You can count your blessings that, for the most part, you usually Do have electricity, you usually Do have a working car, and you usually Do have a working A/C, unlike a some parts of the world. Make it positive and teach your children about how missionaries live. 🙂 Keep your chin up; God is in control. I’m sure others are praying for you as I am.
Mulberries…. Oh my, you just brought back so many childhood memories.
Thanks for the smile 🙂
It sure is a great picture!
I am sorry you didn’t get to go, Crystal! The trip to the library sounds like a great activity, too!

Crystal – sorry you did not get to go! Hope you all have fun at the library though! Monica
I learned a new word from you “foraging”, and now I am anxious to find some berries, too!
