I’ll be speaking to the Joplin Mothers of Preschoolers this Saturday (May 5, 2012) and they’ve graciously said that I can open this free event up to my local readers, too.
So, if you live in or near Joplin, MO, and are free on Saturday morning, I’d love to have the chance to meet you.
I’ll be speaking from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and my topic will be, “I’d Throw in the Towel — If Only I Could Find a Clean One.” I’ll be sharing some of the tips, tricks, and lessons I’ve learned the hard way as a mom of young children.
The workshop is geared for Christian moms of young children who are feeling weary, exhausted, or just in need of some practical encouragement in how to juggle things without feeling overwhelmed and burnt out. However, no matter what stage or season of life you’re in, you’re more than welcome to come!

Any questions? Feel free to email me.
Good luck! I grew up in Parsons, KS (about 60 miles from Joplin) and wish I could be there to see you — but where I live now is a bit too far (NJ). If you have time, definitely make the drive to Pittsburg KS for Chicken Annie’s. (And now I’ll have started a war on the blog between fans of Chicken Annie’s and fans of Chicken Mary’s!)
Yea I live in Springfield! I should be able to make this and bring a friend who is a new mom from church with me. Excited to get to hear you in real life.
just an FYI all the areas around Joplin (Carl Junction,Webb City, Duquesne, Carthage, Oronogo, Carterville) are having their City wide yard sales !! maybe come early in the morning get some deals, come to the event at 9:30 and after get some more deals!!
Love this! What a great idea!
I don’t have kids but I still would love to sneak out for the a bit before I come to work. I live just up the road from College Heights.
I’d love to get to meet you! Some of what I will be sharing could also apply to those without children — or you’re welcome to come near the end (I think we’ll be done around 10:30 a.m.) or before it starts (we should be there by 9 a.m.) so that I can have a chance to meet you.
I just map quested this and it is only 1hr and 15 minutes from my home in Springfield! We usually go on church visitation on Saturday’s but it is cancelled this Saturday, so Lord willing I will make it =) Possibly with my husband and 4 kids (6 and under). I get lost driving to new places by myself that’s why I am trying to get my hubby to come too…lol
Oh yay!!! I’d love to get to meet you — and your family! Our whole family will be there, too. 🙂
Okay great, I will tell my husband there should be another man there….lol. I thought it would be like taking him along yard-saleing with only women around =)
It’s a very easy shot in Joplin. You come right off Deunawag (sp?) 7th street exit. Turn right at the Gas Station You’ll see MSSU on the left as you get close to the second stoplight. At the second stoplight turn right and the church is on the left.
Any chance you will post your class? I would love to attend but i’m all the way in ohio…You can email me too if you have handouts or whatnot, im very interested.
I may be coming to Ohio later this year and giving this same workshop! I’ll post details when/if the details get worked out!
I live in IL, and Joplin is a 4 hours drive. This is the first weekend in awhile that we don’t have booked. If I can swing it, I want to come! I read your blog everyday!
I’d love to get to meet you! We should be hanging around for awhile after it’s over with so that I can spend some time chatting with everyone!
Got my fingers crossed that one day you will come to the sunny south…..NC in particular!! Just don’t come today….highs in the 90s today….too early for this hot weather!
Yep…she definitely needs to come to NC. This heat this early in the year is killing me. I need a Popsicle…I need a Popsicle *coupon*! 😉
I’m in Pittsburg (just over the KS line from Joplin), but the day is filled with soccer games. My preschoolers are now 2nd and 4th graders, but ya know….moms still need encouragement!
How neat that you’re coming here! I live right by Joplin, but already have plans as well… otherwise I would love to! I’m helping my Mom out with a sale she’s been working on for weeks, but with the prices she’s offering on Accessory items, you might just want to come meet us! lol For example – We’ll have over 100 choices of 4″ Crystal Flower hair clips (ie: Gerbera Daisies, etc) for just $1.00 each! When she told me her Spring Sale pricing, I literally thought of your budget site because I’m used to paying more than double for those! 🙂
Going to Seattle, WA anytime soon?
I could use some encouragement on that topic. You should come speak somewhere in central IL! 🙂
My friends, The Struggling Reader, were across from you at the Cincinnati conference, she told me. 🙂
How fun!
Yeah, she said she noticed you and recognized the name from all the FB posts from your followers who share your posts. 🙂 She also said she hopes to be able to be a follower when she has time.
It sounds like something I need, I was just telling my sister how awful this last week has been. I will be gone on vacation.
I was waiting for the freezer cooking day 2 post but I need to go to bed. I made 33 applesauce muffins and dump cake in the crock pot this evening. I cut up the banana bread for the freezer and put in baggies.
I’m sleepy so I am going to bed. Thanks for the great challenge.
This is a great workshop, I hope lots of your readers can come 😀
You’re so kind, Ruth!
Hope you’re doing well! I was just thinking of you yesterday! 🙂
Thanks 🙂 It’s been one of those weeks. I literally threw in the towels–all of them–to clean up a mess earlier this week 😀 But they are clean again now and ready for the next one, lol.
I don’t live too far away but I have plans. 🙁
Too bad I live 3 hours away!! I’d love to meet you! 🙂
