Get 4 like jars and seperate your change: quarters in one, dimes, nickels, pennies. When jars get filled roll up your change and take it to the bank, then use the money to buy groceries. Don’t forget to search for deals at grocery store and your coupons. When you get your change back start your jars over again.
That’s a great idea! -Jordan, MSM Team
What a great idea. Thank you so much!
I’ve been upcycling my glass jars for about 2 months now. Love the idea. They make a perfect addition to my glass containers I currently use for leftovers now. I prefer glass containers over plastic, just because =). I use them for salsa, flour, buttons, loose change and so on.
I actually use old Snapple bottles like those to put ice tea in for my husband’s lunch. Since they are glass, they last a long time. I just stick in them in the dishwasher. We can’t afford Snapple for his lunch like we used to so about once a year/every other year I buy a pack. He gets a treat and I replace the bottles.
Keep your eyes out for great coupons on the Snapple bottles. That’s how we get them, when they’re on sale AND I have a coupon.
I do this with most food packaging.
I turned a large (costco size) pickle jar into a dog treat container. I spray painted the lid.. and then taped off a bone I drew on the front and spray painted that too. It looks really nice on my counter. You’d never know it used to be a pickle jar.
I save old peanut butter containers, etc. Spray paint the lid so they all look cohesive and then use them to organize my pantry!
Some of my favorite containers are the older BIG peanut butter containers…. we use them to make sun tea in.
