Thanks for the post!! The idea for individual servings is great. The hubby and I are counting calories and this will make it so easy. I am also terribly brown rice “challenged”. I can never make it come out just right. If followed the directions in her post for cooking full proof brown rice in the oven and it worked like a charm! I am so happy. Thanks for the link.

I have never frozen rice, I was always it afraid it would taste chewy like it does in microwave meals. Is this not the case? is there a special way to reheat it so it doens’t do that?

Pure genius – I love the Minute individual rice servings… but not anymore I’m converting to this method! Way cheaper!!

I usually freeze individual servings in snack size ziplocks & freeze. This would only require one ziplock, so would probably be more cost effective. Thanks!!!

This is an awesome idea. I was tired of buying the expensive already done rice cups. And I love having rice at work for my meals.

I have done this with steel cut oats. Got the idea from amy-newnostalgia.blogspot.com
