It’s Day 1 of the $100 Savings Challenge and I thought I wouldn’t find much for today’s challenge… but boy was I surprised!
First off, if you haven’t signed up for the $100 Savings Challenge, be sure follow the directions to sign up (there are prizes!!):
How To Participate in the $100 Savings Challenge
- Go sign up for the $100 Savings Challenge to get your free 14-day plan.
- Beginning today, Monday, July 14, 2025, I’ll be posting on Instagram, Facebook, and here on the blog as I work through the challenge myself.
- I will invite you to do the daily challenges with me and to share your successes! Every day that you complete the challenge and submit it, you’ll be entered to win one of 5 $100 Amazon gift cards we’re giving away randomly at the end.
- You can participate every day or just some of the days — whatever works for you! But every day that you participate and fill out the simple form, you are entered to win!
Day 1 Challenge:
Do a Wallet + Purse Sweep: Check coat pockets, purses, car consoles, and random drawers for forgotten cash or change. (Goal: $5–$10)
I didn’t think I would find much as I had just cleaned out my purse. But I looked through our drawers next to our bed and all the shelves in the closet and a bunch of other random places (Jesse is known for stashing change in odd places!) and guess how much money I came up with…
$15.25!!!

I didn’t even check the car yet, because Jesse had taken the kids out to run some errands. So who knows? I might find even more there!
The goal was to find $5-$10 today, so I’m excited that I found over $15 to start the challenge off with. You can keep track of your savings on the chart I’ve included in the free 14-day plan!
Enter to Win a $100 Amazon Gift Card (we’re giving 5 away!)
Go sign up for the challenge here! And just for fun — and to motivate you to join us for the challenge — if you do today’s challenge and fill out the form linked here, you will be entered to win one of 5 $100 Amazon gift cards I’m giving away at the end of the challenge!
Note: We may possibly share a few of the best entries over the course of the challenge, so by submitting the form, you are giving us permission to possibly post your entry. If you’d rather we don’t post it, please note that on your entry.
I can’t wait to hear if you found some unexpected money today, too!
If I’m starting late, can I not catch up?
I tried to enter a second day on the challenge response sote and it said O was blocked.
You totally can! I’d wait a bit and then try to submit it again. It’s set up to prevent spam so if you submit multiple entries quickly, it will block you from being able to do so. If you wait 15-20 mins, you should be good!
Win + win! I now have a huge bag of change (savings and the drawers are now more organized!)
YAY!!
Does it count if you keep it there on purpose? Because I keep a little cash in the car for parking/bridge toll/sudden surprises.
I would say it only counts if you found it — didn’t know it existed!
I did today’s challenge, but can’t submit it because I have no picture since I found no money anywhere. I didn’t know a picture would be required, but don’t know what I would take a picture of🤷🏻♀️
Feel free to just post a pic of yourself or a bare table! 🙂
A $2 bill left over in a card I thought I had removed.
Woohoo!!!

Hi, I have completed the signup form 3 times for the $100 savings challenge but I’m not getting the email that says I have joined the challenge. I get your emails daily but for some reason I’m note getting any type of confirmation to go along with this challenge. Not seeing anything in my junk mail either. Help what am I doing wrong.
