CVS is buying Longs Drug Stores

Cvs400

Those of you in California, Nevada, and Arizona have cause for rejoicing!

According to this article, CVS is buying Longs Drug Stores and the transition from Longs to CVS will take place over the next few years, most of the stores being re-converted in 2009.

Great stuff and I’m happy to see our beloved CVS doing so well!

Now if they’d just get the memo and build some stores where my parents live since we’re hoping to move back there soon… It’s pretty bad when you determine whether you can move to an area based upon whether or not there are CVS stores close by!

It’s funny you say that, because we are looking to move & I am trying hard to not let “no CVSs around” get in the way. Actually we really liked one house about two weeks ago that was right down the road from CVS. I could’ve walked there! You could literally almost see it from there. Oh well…It was bought right out from under our feet! =( What you said just makes me laugh…

I’m thrilled. I’ve never been to a CVS before in my life, but I’ve been so envious of all the great CVS deals you all get! I have a LONG’s within walking distance of my house. It’s true we are looking to move into a different house, but there are LONG’s all over out here….which means once all converted there will never be a CVS far away! Yippee! Now I’m going to have to learn all the little tricks!

I have a friend who is a Caremark employee and can’t even use her employee discount due to no No Cal stores. She will be psyched!

Yippeee! There is a Longs about 1 mile away from my new house. I was having withdrawls from CVS being on the other side of town.

Can’t wait until our Longs convert!!!

I did an honest to goodness happy dance this morning when I read the paper. THe only time I have been in CVS was when I travelled extensively for business and I was so excited to find a store that seem to pay ME for shopping there.

I am stoked! And if they keep all of the Longs locations, there is one on my way to and from work. Yay me!

Our CVS in middle TN is remodelling. I got 75% off of toys (stocked up for Christmas and Hot Wheels for potty training rewards) 75% off of electronics (DVD R and camcorder discs!), light bulbs/household stuff, and sewing stuff scissors, boot laces for my husband, etc. I spent more than usual at CVS, but I got a LOT of stuff! They said many stores were doing this within the next few months so keep an eye out!

Why can’t I get a CVS? I emailed them to see when they were working on new stores or what not and NO ONE answered. I’ve emailed twice. I live in OK and 1.5 hours away from one.
