One of the best parts of blogging for me has been the opportunity I’ve had to get to know some really brilliant people who have done amazing things with their lives. One of those people I’ve been privileged to get to know a little through blogging is a man named Phil Vischer.
You might not know his name right off the bat, but I bet you’re familiar with VeggieTales®. Phil is the original VeggieTales® creator. And let me tell you he is the real deal.
He and his team are not only hilarious, they are humble, gracious, and warm-hearted. Phil is very honest about the mistakes he made with VeggieTales® and what his heart is for his current company and products.
We’ve long been huge fans of the What’s in the Bible? series and how it has served as a springboard to having amazing spiritual conversations with our kids.
Which is why I’m excited to tell you about JellyTelly today. It’s a kids’ streaming video app co-developed with VeggieTales® creator Phil Vischer and it allows you to instantly stream hundreds of hours of fun, family-friendly videos and movies for kids about God, the Bible, and faith.
We signed up for it about four months ago and our kids have spent lots of afternoons during their movie time each day gathered around the computer or TV watching shows from it. I love that it offers a wide variety of fun and engaging entertainment options for kids, but that I don’t have to worry whether the content is safe or kid-friendly.
Here’s how it works:
- Sign up for a FREE 7-day JellyTelly trial subscription.
- Once you’ve signed up, scroll through the videos and movies and shows they offer and add ones you or your kids want to watch to your playlist. There are shows from VeggieTales®, What’s In The Bible?, Hillsong Kids, the Jesus Storybook Bible and many more. Just hover over any video you want to add to your Playlist.
- You can play the videos directly on a laptop or desktop computer or through the JellyTelly streaming video app. The JellyTelly app is available for iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, and Kindle. We’ve used both the online site on our desktop computer and the app through Apple TV and not had any issues with either.
- If you watch a show and you or your kids really love it, you can choose to click “Favorite” on it to add it to your My Favorites list. Your Playlist and Favorites list can be accessed from the menu button.
- JellyTelly also offers a page with a variety of games on it. All of them are fun games and many have Bible-based themes.
- JellyTelly wants to encourage families to make screentime more meaningful. You can sign up at the bottom of any page on their site for their free weekly 5-minute family video devotional — design foster important conversations with your kids about their faith.
- If you decide to continue on after your free week is up, you’ll pay $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year. It’s a lot less than Netflix and you can trust that everything they offer is family-friendly and wholesome! (If you want to cancel your membership before the month is up — or at any time! — just go to the JellyTelly website click on “Cancel Membership” on the “My Account” page and follow the instructions for cancellation under the heading “Cancel Membership.”)
You can go here to watch a video about JellyTelly to learn more about their overall mission and how it works.
(Note: This post was underwritten by JellyTelly. Read our disclosure policy here.)
*Payment information is required when you sign up for the trial. If you do not wish to continue your membership once the free trial is up, visit the JellyTelly website and click on “Cancel Membership” on the “My Account” page and follow the instructions for cancellation under the heading “Cancel Membership.”
Hi,
Can i get access to this from the UK?
I’m not sure but you could contact them here to ask them directly! I hope that helps! -Jordan, MSM Team
How many devices carb you use to watch? Will it work on Microsoft phones? Please
My kids love this! They are twin 7 year old girls & my favorite is his “what’s in the Bible” series. It’s amazing & very Biblical. They think it’s funny & they come back with lots of info & questions about the Bible, history, & Jesus. We love it.
Thanks for writing about Jelly Telly. A great recommendation in my opinion.
I really, really wanted this to love this. I have three kids, ages 6, 5, and 4. When I saw this promotion for a month free offered on moneysavingmom.com, I signed up on my desktop for the trial with the coupon code, but was immediately disappointed. The site was noticeably slow to load on my pc, but, as this was not going to be the device we used it on, I figured the app would probably be better. Unfortunately, it was not. My Android app kept crashing every time I tried to play anything or open my playlist. I contacted JellyTelly, and they said they knew of the issue and it was something they were working on, but they didn’t have a fix yet. I then looked at the reviews on the Google Play Store, and users have been posting for about a week that the Android app has been crashing.
So, we couldn’t use it on our phone, we couldn’t use it on our computer (our kids are not generally allowed to use our computer), and we cannot stream it via our tv (we use Amazon Firestick, which does not have the JellyTelly app).
So, after several more days of trying to figure out how to use this trial, my husband and I decided it wasn’t worth the hassle, but that we could look into it again several months down the road to see if the app had been improved. So, the next day, which was the 7th day of my supposedly 1 week+1 month free trial, I noticed I got charged for a year’s subscription (it was actually $34, so they charged me for a year and gave me a discount equivalent to a month free). This was not at all what was represented to me on this site (“7. If you decide to continue on after your free month is up, you’ll pay $4.99 per month or $39.99 per year.” Crystal Paine) , so I promptly cancelled my subscription, and sent an email to their customer service detailing the issue and asking them to refund my money.
I got a reply back saying they cannot issue me a full refund, only a partial refund (and I’m still waiting to hear back from them what amount and why), and they’ll let me have their service through whatever their partial refund involves, which really doesn’t help me because we can’t use it without the app.
I’m extremely frustrated and disappointed by all of this. I had expected so much more.
Hi Sandra! We’ve been in touch with JellyTelly and they should touch base with you today and refund your money. If you don’t hear from them for some reason, please let us know. Thanks! -Meg, MSM Team
Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much–especially for getting a month-long trial for all of us!!!!
Wanted to mention that we just no signed up, and we got a price of %35 for the One-Year option after entering the code from you guys!!! Yay!
Woohoo!!! Yay!
We love Jelly Telly and have used it for almost one year. My 5.5yr old boy watches it on the computer while I get ready in the morning. I wish they had more unique games that were STEM oriented but the videos are great teaching tools on the Bible and character building. He loves the armor of God game, the Bible memory verse skiing game, Buck Denver shows, the Old testament stories, the Bently Brothers songs and Micah’s super Vlog. These really spur Biblical conversations with my son. I highly recommend this 🙂
Thanks so much for sharing! I loved hearing this!
We’ve subscribed to JellyTelly for about 2 years and we love it! I think if you pay once a year instead of paying monthly, the price is cheaper.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience! I’m so glad to hear you love it!
What’s in the Bible is the best! Enjoyed JT when kids were younger. Really like The Phil Visher Podcast for myself too 😀
Do you know if this is available to stream outside of the US?
It is! As long as you have a good Wi-Fi connection, you’re golden! -Meg, MSM Team
Mine is saying one free week as well…
