Zaycon
I’ve been purchasing all my boneless chicken breasts through Zaycon for the past several years. They are fresh (never frozen) and extremely affordable! I always wait until they go on sale for $1.49/lb. If you don’t mind purchasing in bulk, I highly recommend checking to see if Zaycon offers a drop-off in your area.

We love Zaycon. We get their chicken breast, 93% ground beef, strip steaks, and bacon wrapped pork filets.
We divided the chicken into meal sized portions and vacuum freeze, add marinade to some.
Going to try the chicken tenderloins next instead of the breast.
There are just the two of us, but it saves a lot of money.
Rarely by meat anywhere else.
I need to learn to vacuum freeze – that sounds awesome! And I’m with you – I want to try the chicken tenderloins. They are on my wish list! It sounds like you love Zaycon as much as our family. 🙂
We LOVE Zaycon! We cut the chicken breasts (which are huge) into meal-sized pieces, and put two meals’ worth into freezer bags. We’ve also canned some, which comes in handy for chicken salad and convenience meals; much less expensive than buying tinned chicken even from Costco.
A couple of times DH and I have gotten our wires crossed and each ordered two cases. The delivery guy just chuckled as my eyes popped when he kept loading boxes into my car. That was a LOT of work — kept the canner going constantly for about a week.
Oh WOW – I can’t imagine 4 boxes. I get burned out with two. 🙂 Canning is such a fantastic idea! I am going to learn how to do it one of these days…
Ok….just got my first load of Zaycon chicken breast and I’m totally overwhelmed with what to do with it! Do you ever flash freeze it so you can pull out individual pieces?
To be completely honest, I’m not entirely sure what “flash freezing” is. I freeze on cookie sheets in a single layer for a few hours, and then transfer into heavy duty freezer bags. So my pieces ARE individually frozen. Because, yes, you want to be able to pull out just what you need! I’m sorry it’s overwhelming…I don’t exactly “look forward” to zaycon chicken pickup days either, but it’s worth it to me in the long run. 🙂
Walmart does a very large jug of Mrs. Butterworth’s in the Bulk section for like $6.00 and Pancake mix as well for about the same price. Just an FYI .
I get them all the time for our very large family.
Goes like Hot Cakes !!! LOL
Oh, that is great to know! Thank you! I’ll do my best to remember that in the future. 🙂
If you are interested, I’ve been making my own pancake syrup for 10 years. Very easy.
I’d love to know your recipe! Thanks! I use to make my own when we lived in Taiwan and couldn’t buy it – but I can’t even remember where I got the recipe. Probably Google. 🙂 So I’d love a tried and true recipe!
It’s so easy. Equal parts (I usually use 1 cup) brown sugar, white sugar, and water in sauce pan. Cook over medium till small bubbles but do not boil. It thickens as it cools. Add tsp vanilla extract after removing from heat. Store in fridge.
This sounds great and frugal – thanks so much for sharing!
You’re welcome! It’s also free of high fructose corn syrup if you want to avoid that.
