Weekly Menu Plan
Breakfasts
Everyone is responsible for making/cleaning up their own breakfasts. Choices include:
Oatmeal, Cereal, Yogurt, Toast, Fruit, Fried/Scrambled/Hard Boiled Eggs, Veggie Omelets, Smoothies
Lunches
Someone gave us a huge box of summer sausages, cheeses, and nuts as a Christmas gift. Because of the craziness of the coming week, I am unashamedly serving the contents of that box for most of our lunches! I’ll supplement it with some crackers, fresh fruit and veggies and call it good. 🙂 We’ll do leftovers as needed, and to mix it up a little.
Dinners
Taco Salad, Riced Cauliflower
Homemade Pepperoni Pizza, Tossed Salad
Baked Chicken Nuggets, Roasted Zucchini, Tossed Salad, Baked Potatoes
Crustless Ham and Cheese Quiche (something like this), Crescent Rolls, Roasted Broccoli
Hamburger Vegetable Soup (I’ll use ground venison), Biscuits
Christmas Banquet at Church (dinner provided)
Leftovers
We are excited that we just got venison. Pretty inexpensive compared to lean ground beef.
I am so thankful for venison and a husband who LOVES to hunt! I’m glad you were able to get some. 🙂
The CDC still is warning against Romaine as there have been even more outbreaks. Unless you know exactly who grew that I would toss it now. Better safe!
Really? 🙁 Well, we’ve already eaten half of the package, and no one is sick yet. Hopefully we’re good. Thanks for the warning. I obviously need to do better research!

People don’t always get sick right away, either.
Snacks?
Haha! This is an embarrassing – and maybe even controversial! – question to answer truthfully. BUT…my kids get one snack a day (they are ages 4-12, so no toddlers – and none of them are underweight). They always choose something (one things!) from our Halloween stash. When you have 4 trick-or-treaters, they bring a ridiculous amount of stuff! We put it all in a big tub and they dig through it at snack time and choose something. Occasionally they opt for a piece of fruit or homemade popcorn (I buy popcorn kernels in bulk) instead. This is the compromise that my husband (the junkie! ha!) and I have come up with, and it works for us. 🙂
I also made a huge batch of frosted sugar cookies a few days ago for several things coming up (christmas party, kid’s recital, etc). So those are in the freezer, and this week my kids may choose a cookies instead of a piece of candy.
