Great job! I have gone over budget the last two weeks so I am trying to cut back. My husband asked what I bought for his Super Bowl snacks. The truth: a store brand bag of Doritos. Well, that didn’t go over so well. He said, “okay,” but his eyes told the real story. lol. I thought about what I could make with what I have on hand and instantly thought of MSM recipes since they are so budget friendly. I pulled the Make Ahead Butterhorn Roll recipe and made slider buns and pizza bites with the dough. I filled the pizza bites with some ingredients that I also used in the Spaghetti pie that I made for dinner. Tomorrow, I will toss some chicken in the slow cooker and make buffalo chicken sliders. Our only additional purchase was a cabbage to make coleslaw with. Tomorrow, I will put chicken in the crock pot for buffalo chicken sliders.
Way to go!!! Great ideas! I bet your husband will be super happy!
Brigette, I love your grocery trip outlines and meal plans, thanks for the inspiration every week!!
Awww, thanks for being so encouraging!
I love shopping at Aldi, especially for produce! It’s just soooo much cheaper! I love seeing what other folks are doing to keep their grocery budgets down. It is nice to get some fresh ideas that is in line with my $75/week budget! 🙂 Thanks!!!
I always appreciate when you have some ideas from Aldis. Being in New York, we don’t always have the same stores. The ones that are near me are Great American, Hannaford, Walmart, Price Chopper, possibly a Shoprite and a Tops. I would love to see some posts if anyone uses these stores as well. 🙂 And thank you for these! Though I can’t get coupons on my old computer I hope to, someday, try to do some couponing so I can keep our budget down.
I don’t have any of those stores except Walmart. I am sorry! Yay for Aldis though!
Awesome week, Brigette – I am inspired!
Thanks for the encouragement!
I was wondering what you were going to do with that dry masa 🙂
That egg roll in a bowl looks great! I am going to try it. We have switched out ground beef for ground turkey. I find that it is less expensive than beef and we like it.
Egg roll in a bowl is yummy! I’ve made it in lab with high school students. Even my picky eaters liked it (well, most of them)!
That’s impressive!
The dry mass is for making corn tortillas for our home school study on native Americans. We have done the same as you as far as ground turkey and rarely eat beef (unless we are grilling hamburgers for a rare treat!).
I’ve made this Indian Fry Bread a few times and it’s always a hit. I especially love it with homemade refried beans.
