Zaycon
After hearing and reading rave reviews about Zaycon boneless chicken, I decided to be brave and give it a try! Based on the limited research I did, it seems to be pretty good quality meat, it is cheaper than Aldi, and Zaycon delivers to a location close to my house.
Have any of you ordered from them before? I just picked up my order this morning, so I’ll have to keep you updated on whether or not it gets the family’s stamp of approval. 😉
40lbs Fresh Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts – $67.60
Total: $67.60
{Note from Crystal: I asked Brigette to use her referral link in this post. If you are interested in trying out Zaycon, you can order through this link and Brigette will receive a $5 credit toward her next order.}
Weekly Total: $62.96, plus $67.60 Zaycon Order
(We have some money set aside – separate from the weekly grocery budget – for “bulk” purchases such as this. I usually end up spending $50-100 several times a year on things like 50# bags of wheat and oats, gallons of raw honey and coconut oil, etc.)

We bought Zaycon chicken last month. It was so easy. I pulled into the church parking lot (I did not even get out of the car) and they put the case in my trunk. I divided it up into freeze bags (probably 20!) and it is the best chicken we have ever had. So good! We are ordering steaks next!!!
Can anyone tell me what the sodium amount is for this chicken. I can only have 1500 mg a day. Thanks.
The kind I bought is fresh, boneless chicken breasts. It doesn’t come in packaging with any calorie/nutritional info on it (it hasn’t ever been officially packaged it is so fresh – they leave that part up to you. :)) It wouldn’t have any added sodium – just the kind that naturally occurs in chicken meat. Try googling for specific info. Hope that helps!
Never heard of Zaycon before, but I’d love to know what you think of it.
3 Musketeers for free?? Oh yeah, it’s gonna be a good week for you!!!:)
LOVED it!! The whole experience was super easy (ordered online, waited in line for about 2 minutes when I went to pick it up and never even got out of my car, came home and froze/bagged it). I grew up on a farm and can vouch for the freshness of the product (at least the stuff I got – the Zaycon delivery man told me my chicken had been butchered/cut 1.5 days before, and it definitely appeared he was being honest :)). I hope to never buy Aldi/Harris Teeter chicken again. 🙂 Not to mention it is cheaper than what I have been paying!!
And yes. Ha! Great week for this Mama. 😉
Would love to try the chicken! It wasn’t on the site for my town, but hopefully it will be. Roughly how many breasts was the 40 lbs? How is it packaged? Love your posts!!!
We love Zaycon. I order their chicken breasts and ground beef regularly. We hopefully will be trying their salmon as well!
I’m just sad I waited so long to try it! And yes – the salmon looks very tempting. 🙂
I’m so excited to try zaycon! I just looked up their sites they have one in my neighborhood!
I was really disappointed with Aldi this week. Most of their produce was gone, especially the sales.
Yay! You have to try the chicken! I was totally impressed (although you have remember I am used to “fresh” chicken from Harris Teeter, and frozen chicken from Aldi). And I HATE when Aldi is out of the advertised produce! Sniff. 🙁
I’ve been wondering about Zaycon, also. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Zaycon is great! We have purchased both the chicken and the ground beef.
I can’t wait to try the ground beef next – we LOVE the chicken!!
I am utterly impressed that you plan to have company for dinner during VBS week! Now that is an accomplishment! 🙂
Haha! Don’t be impressed! It is just one way to motivate me to keep up with the housework all week long. 🙂
I’d never heard of Zaycon, but it looks like they come to my city. The chicken was not listed here, but the other meats were higher than local sales.
I pureed watermelon in the food processor & froze it for watermelon ice last summer. Very yummy in 90 degree plus weather! I also cut up, cubed, & froze the white part of a watermelon rind (the green rind is bitter) to use in chili, veggie chowder, & other soups. It tastes similar to zucchini with a slightly sweet taste. I consider it free food since I’ve always disposed of it in the past.
I would’ve never thought to do that with watermelon rind. Very smart! Thanks for sharing that tip!
I started with about 2 cups of the white rind in a batch of chili, liked it, & have since used 2-4 cups depending on how much is in the freezer. It helps stretch the grocery budget! 🙂
What a great idea! I love it!! I have juiced watermelon rinds before (thrown them in with other fruits and veggies), but haven’t ever heard of your idea. Thanks for sharing!
We have been buying from Zaycon for years! have been impressed with the quality. We have used their breakfast sausage, chicken fingers, boneless skinless chicken breast, whole ham, and maybe something else I am forgetting…
I was totally impressed with the chicken, so I am glad to hear their other things are good as well!
